I would not consider Jehovah Witness or Mormon's Christians. The are not Christ followers when they place men right up there with God.

Well I can not speak for the jehova witness as I have never met with any to understand thier ways... but i can say that a Mormon is a christian... a "Christian" is "one who believes in Christ". I can say that Mormons believe in Christ. As one of the answers stated, they are devoted not extreme. Also, mormons do not have thier own version of the bible, they use the king james version. They do use another text, though they never claim it to be another version of the "bible", it is "another testiment of Jesus Christ". I also believe that ppl dont like things they dont know about, therefore everyone fears them. I have met many mormons in my travels and can tell you... they seem to have better lives than most other ppl i know... must be doing something right. If you believe it God, I think it is your choice and noone should be pursecuted if that i the case... then we must also involve the Catholics... if one believes a mormon is a cult.... then we must say the catholics are as well... chanting for an hour every week.

Jehova's Witnesses and Mormons, while calling themselves Christians, do not fit the traditional meaning of the word, and most mainstream denominations do not consider them to be Christians at all. Their doctrine contradicts scripture, meaning, the things they say about Jesus are not found in scripture because they either deny the scripture or add to it.

Professor Walter Martin, in his book, "The Kingdom of the Cults" defines these religions as cults, because they uphold the teachings of people other than Jesus over the teaching of Jesus. There was also a book called "The God Makers" that explains the cult of the Mormons. Sorry I don't know who wrote it.

jointly as all of us has their own perspectives of regardless of if Mormons are Christian or no longer, Mormons actual have faith that Jesus grew to become into and is "the super Jehovah of the previous testomony, the Messiah of the hot testomony. decrease than the process His Father, He grew to become into the writer of the earth. All issues have been made by ability of him: and devoid of him grew to become into no longer something made that grew to become into made. Mormons even have faith interior the Holy Ghost, he witnesses of the daddy and the Son". Quoted from real to the religion, printed SLC Utah, 2004. regardless of the actuality that I chosen to now no longer be a training Mormon/LDS that's what i grew to become into taught from day one in each and every of my club and that's what the LDS church proceed to have faith on the instant. the actuality that they've not got faith ' precisely ' what you suspect makes them no much less Christian of their ideals. Their cultural upload- ons, at the same time with Temple worship would desire to take them far exterior of mainstream Christianity, yet you won't be in a position to fault them interior the concept that "Jesus is God". it truly is whilst one steps exterior of concept and judges what human beings actual try this makes the version. jointly as I disagree with various Mormon techniques and practices, I additionally disagree with various what different self styled Christians prepare. lots of whom are purely too prepared to solid the 1st and various greater stones. As for Jehovah's Witnesses I have not have been given any expertise and can't remark.

Um, not sure I would ever count either group as "extreme".

Neither are "evil" We simply have varying beliefs. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and honestly I can tell you, we are striving to follow the Bble mandate to offer to share the word of God with others.

By one extreme biblical definition, Jehovah's Witnesses (and Mormons) might be considered the ONLY actual Christians.

Trinitarians use an artificial, trinity-specific definition of the term "Christian" which excludes anyone who does not believe that Jesus is God Himself, rather than the Son of God. Interestingly, pagans in the first century pretended that Christ's followers were Atheists(!) because the Christians had a somewhat different idea from the pagans about the nature of God.

By contrast, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"

(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”

(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name

So why do trinitarians try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications? Because they recognize that it is the preaching work that exposes their failure to follow Christ's example and command. The preaching work makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

Jehovah Witness believe in Jehovah God but they deny the divinity of Jesus, so they cannot be classified as Christians.

Mormons sincerely believe they are Christians, but their religion teaches a different Jesus and preaches a different Gospel.

Galatians 1:9 warns about this: "As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema"

2 Corinthians 11: 3 -4 "But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully"

What is a Christian? A Christian is one who believes in and practices the teachings of Jesus Christ. Most responders believe Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christians because they do not accept the trinity? Is that right? Well, WHERE in the Bible did Jesus teach that God is triune and that he was God the Son, the second person of the trinity? WHERE in the Bible does it say the Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in anything? Answer to both questions: NOWHERE!

Catholic and Protestant research sources agree that the trinity are not taught in the Bible. Consider:

The Illustrated Bible Dictionary records: "The word Trinity is not found in the Bible. . . It did not find a place formally in the theology of the church till the 4th century."

The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits that the Trinity "is not. . . directly and immediately the word of God."

The Encyclopedia of Religion And Ethics records: At first the Christian Faith was not Trinitarian. . . It was not so in the apostolic and sub-apostolic ages, as reflected in the New Testament and other early Christian writings."

L. L. Paine, professor of Ecclesiastical History acknowledged: "The Old Testament is strictly monotheistic. God is a single personal being. The idea that a trinity is to be found there . . . is utterly without foundation."

The Encyclopedia of Religion admits: "Theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bible does not contain a doctrine of the Trinity."

The New Catholic Encyclopedia also admits: "The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the Old Testament."

The Encyclopedia of Religion says: "Theologians agree that the New Testament also does not contain an explicit doctrine of the Trinity."

The New Encyclopedia Britannica reports: "Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament."

The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology confirms: "The New Testament does not contain the developed doctrine of the Trinity."

Most churches celebrate holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween, although it is common knowledge that such holidays are of pagan origin. Can someone who observes pagan holidays be considered a TRUE Christian? NO! JW's avoid all forms of paganism.

At Matt. 5:43, 44, Jesus said: "You heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you."

Do most churches obey Jesus' words and avoid participation in warfare? NO! Thousands and thousands of men and women who are members of major "Christian" religions are in the military where they learn to kill their fellow humans. Can that be considered Christian? Not hardly. Jehovah's Witnesses do not go to war for ANY reason!

Jehovah's Witnesss are used to being called non-christian by the world, even though they are Christ's true followers. They know that actions speak louder than words. As Matt. 7:20 says: "By their fruits (works) you will recognize those men."

Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons are off-shoots of Christianity. I don't particularly believe what either group believes, but I must say in their favor that the Jehovah Witness magazines have improved significantly over the years and actually do carry some worthwhile articles at this time. And when my children were little and they were both sick, a couple of Mormon missionaries knocked on our door and I told them they couldn't come in because my babies were sick and I was drowning in a sea of laundry. Those 2 young men came in and folded my laundry! God bless them. I always had a soft spot in my heart for the Mormons after that. I don't know if knocking on doors and trying to convert people makes them extreme, but if folding diapers and sheets and towels and washclothes and baby clothes makes the Mormons extreme, it's extreme in goodness.

JW and Mormons are not Christians. Now if you are in one of these groups it is not intended as a slam just a simple definition. In order to be "Christian" you MUST believe that Jesus Christ has eternally been fully God equal to the Father and the Spirit. Also, and just as important, he was fully man while on earth. Further, that there are no other gods.

Mormons by contrast are polytheists in that they believe that if you achieve the highest level of faithfulness possible, you will receive your own planet over which you will be god.

JWs believe that Jesus was not God but the first of God's creations and his "master worker"

It is not in the scope of this answer to begin proof texting for the sake of arguing. There is nothing wrong with being what you are. If you are JW or Mormon or whatever be proud! Simply acknowledge the differences where they exist. I am not interested at this point in saying JWs or Mormons are right or wrong, good or bad. However they are not Christian.
