The Bible says that Jesus himself was a man of many sorrows and was familiar with suffering. These sorrows and sufferings serve as our teachers. They refine us and purify us so that we may grow spiritually.
For instance, if we suffer because we are living with an abusive spouse, we have to learn to wait for an answer from the Lord, we have to learn to trust God in this situation, we have to learn what God's will is for us in this instance. There is much to learn in every situation....even the ones that cause much suffering. But God puts us in the right place and at the right time to learn all we need to make spiritual progress. Sometimes it is not a pleasant process, however beneficial.

No I don't love my sorrows /sufferings. No one can love them while going thru them. One has to bear sorrow/suffering as inevitable part of life. Afterwards sometimes they reveal the significance and learn that everything happens for the best. But it is not easy to bear suffering. Though we learn some lesson from our sufferings but it is not necessary that we can use this wisdom in future as life is a mystery and everytime we face new challenges. To me it appears that life is wasted in such learnings only and we remain away from constructive goals.

We have to love our sufferings and sorrows. I mean we have to live with them. People who fail to realise this commit suicide. Every where the suicide rate is increasing becos people are not aware of this. If you take any human life be it President Bush, Bill Gates or a low profile poor man living in a remote corner of the African Continent, all will have joys and sorrows in their life. Only way to love our sorrows is to have belief in Almighty God. This belief should be a clear, logical and a sound belief without any doubt.
Only man on this earth can think and act. Animals live by instincts and reflex actions only. Where as man can think and then choose his action during every moment of his life. He should use his intelligence to tackle the bad situation of his life.

Never even try to do it, because you will never be able to. One has to be a freak of nature to have such an unnatural trait. Human birth means pure and simple joy, enjoy your divine endowments while you are on earth, gain knowledge to liberate yourself from the bondages of the flesh. Abandon your sufferings/sorrows and never ever fall in love with them, although you can learn from them, but I strongly believe that our sorrows and sufferings are due to our own misdeeds.

The more sorrows and suffering that you may encounter in your life you may take comfort in the fact that your karmic debts are being paid off, and your load is getting lighter. Maya (illusion) is holding the scales of pleasure and pain and it has to equally balance them for each soul for each pleasure there is a pain and for each pain there is a pleasure. This is the eternal law of Maya. But the best thing would be never to love either your sorrows or your pleasures because both are illusory and transitory.

While i ws learning meditation,I've been taught that when u sit long time for meditating & when ur joints & lower back starts acheing observe it,feel it as a part of ur body.Observe the process of the pain & ur reaction to it,ur psychological changes, response of ur mind to that pain, the thransfer of message of pain to the brain & its response & so on.then u will not feel the actual pain bt u start enjoying it.That is "moksha". U don't have 2 go anywhere 2 get moksha.U start enjoying every moment of life (even sorrows) & u r free.U r happy.
The same thing in real life.Observe sorrows, how they come, wht's its nature.Wht's ur response to it? r u looking at it as an "O"pportunity or as an "O"bstacle? Why? Then u'll start enjoying life.
All the best!!!!!!

I don't think you love your sorrow, I think you come to the understanding that sorrow is inevitable and you learn to make the best out of every situation.

One cannot really love ones sorrows and sufferings, unless he is a saint or mahatma. However, one can always learn a lesson from it.

hello anil

At the moment of sorrows and sufferings no, i don't think any one could love but then you realize that its just another test from god. And god knows our Strength so they can never be to hard for us to overcome, they might be very difficult. at the end we love them because they only made us stronger and more mature.

all the best *=)

Do you mean those times when I felt:
like I was totally alone in the world
when even those who profess to love me could not understand my turmoil
when I thought the night would never end
when I begged God, to just tell me what lesson was to be learned and He remained silent
those times when I longed to be a child with a mother to comfort me
those times when I was sure my husband would deem me crazy and leave me to my own demise
or those times when I feared my children would say that I was no longer worthy to be their mother
or those times when the longer I studied, the more confused I became
or those times when even I did not like myself

NO............I do not love them, I would not want to relive them, but I do appreciate them. They are how I developed my endurance, my warriors heart, my refinement., my faith. Without them, I would be far less than I am today.
