My son graduates from Navy boot camp 10/19. His grandfather is going to fly to Chicago to attend the PIR. He has cancer and is unable to walk very far. Does any know if there are wheelchairs available or shuttle buses from the parking area to the graduation?

Probably not. But, I think that the Customer Relations folks at the Naval Hospital Great Lakes can help in getting one on hand for the grandfather to use:
Toll Free: 1-877-628-4677
Long Distance: (847) 688-5929.
You also want to alert the airline that the gentleman is using so they can have a wheelchair and attendant available at Midway or O'Hare (depending on which one he is landing at).
Hope this helps. Wish my new shipmate (your son) the best of luck.

have your son find out in advance for you. i'm sure they can arrange things if they don't already provide them. good luck and best wishes.
