I agree that they are a toy
but they can get freaky I myself will sure vouch for that and I dont normally vouch for superstition
Granted no one here knows me or the value of my word but
Let me tell you my own story
Longer ago than I would care to say
4 of us were left remaining on board, left overs of a party on a yacht
more than a wee bit stoned and definatly drinking
noseying around the galley we found an ouijii board
so we played and laughed
only thing remembered is that we asked where we were going next (we meant since the party ended but it was still Holiday)
The board said "Maple Ave but not yet"
One girl turned aside not wanting anymore
said her parents lived on a Maple Ave and very recently got a letter asking her to move back home (she wouldnt even consider moving home) .... it freaked her!
Thing was: EVERYONE of us four had parents on a Maple Avenue!
17 years later we were all at a wedding
turned out all four of us had moved back with our folks on a Maple Ave!
all four of us cared for our parents in thier final years and all four of us experienced both parents dieing in our arms!
What are the odds?
It was wonderful for me that I got to share in my parents final years
but I never went near an ouijii board again
and I doubt any of the other three have either

On a scale of 1 to 10, pretty gullible.

I've often wondered about this myself - do they work or not - but since the Bible does have evidence of powers working through witches, wizards, spirits, and the like, (God warns us to stay away from those) I tend to believe that some forms of witchcraft and magic do "work" simply by the power of Satan.
Unfortunately.

I am with William D! You really do need to appreciate the fact that you cannot open windows to this kind of evil element and expect it not to have an affect on you. Once you open the window, it will be a hard thing to undo! These are not just "toys"! These are really dangerous and my advice to you is to not open that window!

I beg to differ. They can be a dangerous tool. I have seen strange things involving Ouijii boards occur for myself (when I was a kid) and others.
My daughter insisted on having one. I warned her, but she proceeded. Something in her room shook her bed one night after she played with one. She won't touch them now and I had to cleanse her room. The activity stopped.
Normally I don't utilize any rituals in my belief system, but in this instance I did. And, it worked.

About as gullible as they need to be to believe that prayer actually works.
"When I was young I used to pray for a bike. Then I realized that God doesn't work that way, so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness." — Dan Gadino.

I know someone who told me about it. She believed it is the work of the devil. So she put her finger on the board and said "you are the devil". Immediately her finger was moved to 'N' then 'O'.
She got so scared she went home and prayed and prayed.

Q: How gullible do people need to be to think that ouijii boards really work?
A: Roughly the same amount of gullible as those who think they don't
