My husband is in Navy RTC (basic training) and He has been gone for over a month. He was supposed to get paid the first of this month, and I have been calling the bank everyday and no pay. He had to open a Navy Federal account when he got there, and that had nothing in it either. Saturday is the 15th and Im hoping for a paycheck finally. I have so many bills to pay and nothing is being paid. I dont work, and my husband is in the military forfree i guess? Does anyone know what could be going on. We only have one joint account and thats the blank chck he brought with him for direct deposit. Is there anything I can do or anyone to call? I am so worried, he has been there since the first week of august and has only called me twice. any advice?
I have a 3 month old and I am staying home with her. My husband is in as an e3 because of college credits. I checked the navy federal account and there is nothin in it

This is one of the frustrations of the military...you have done all you can to check on the deposit but only your husband can get the answers from the finance guys. Send him an email, text message or even a registered letter telling him he needs to investigate this. He can go to the commander and/or TI and they can help him figure out who to call. It is completely possible the military got the wrong account info or that there is a problem in the pay office (not as uncommon as we would like to think). Only he can work it out though, so get those messages to him. If he still does not respond, contact the local Red Cross and ask them to help get the message to him.

Go online to www.dfas.mil
That is the Navy's pay center. There you can submit an e mail or use toll free numbers to contact a representative.
You need to know your husbands ssn, dob, date he entered active duty (day he left for basic).
Once he graduates he can sign up for online pay services through www.dfas.mil/mypay
Lots of good info on pay and befefits there.
It normally takes 6 weeks or so until he gets his first paycheck.

contact your hubby and have him go to the psd office. If you have poa you have to go to red cross and call dfas yourself from there and they CAN tell you if you have a poa. Sometimes they enter 1 # wrong and it really mess' things up, do it asap so it can be fixed for the next pay. If you live near a base you might be able to go to navy relief and they might ba able to help out with food and necessities, bills such as electric and water but not phone or cable. Good luck !!!

Send your husband an email, or telegram. Tell him to contact you ASAP about the bank account.
Maybe he didn't open an account? Or he gave you the wrong numbers?
If that doesn't work, contact his commander, or the chaplain.

Sue the government (under breach of contract...military might be immune from wrongful death claims, but they are NOT immune from breach of contract or fraud suits). Subpoenas have a way of making things like checks magically appear.
