Poner is the infinitive form of the verb "To Put." "Who put the sandwich there?" would be "¿Quién puso el bocadillo aquí?" and "I put the sandwich there" would be "Puse el bocadillo allí."

You can also substitute "sandwich" for "bocadillo," but "bocadillo" is more appropriate.

Quién puso el emparedado aquí?

"poner" is the main form of the verb, however the correct form of the verb here is "puso".

pusieron
