I don't think the other answerer's solution will work. A text file ends with a carriage return at the end of each line.

You can try converting it at
www.media-convert.com
a free, online converter
if that doesn't work:
open the text document
>turn on the show/hide button so you can see what you're doing (looks like a backward P next to the zoom button)
>select the first paragraph up to but not including the carriage return that ends the paragraph.
>click File, Replace
>the cursor will blink in the "find what" box
>click "special" then click "paragraph mark"
>the symbol for the paragraph mark is entered
>just click in the "replace with" box
>then click "replace all"

I usually replace one paragraph at a time. If you replace in the whole document, you will have to go back and reset paragraphs. Your choice.

There are several online sources to convert the document. But if you don't want to go to the Internet for some reason, then you need Adobe Acrobat - the full program, not the free reader. It will save and/or convert Word documents into PDFs very quickly and easily. Without downloading something or using an online service, I know of no other way.

find the file. click on the file name when viewing the folder. wait a second and it'll turn blue so you can rename it. rename it and type in .doc at the end. now it'll autoload in Word and is fixed
