Almost exactly one year ago I bought some cooked beef from a bbq. I froze it and its been in there for a year. Someone took it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge. I thought it was the fresh stuff we just bought so i ate some. It tasted dry but, i thought I just warmed it up wrong or something. I have a stomach ache and I just want to know if I should be really worried?

Though six months is generally accepted as the amount of time it's safe to keep meat in the freezer, you should be okay. Your stomach might be giving you trouble because you're worried...it's psychological.
Generally, if something has been properly frozen, freezerburn is the most likely thing to taint in such a short time.
Is there any chance your freezer went out over the last year? Big storm?
If the pain persists, please call a doctor, because you never know.

Yow. If the freezer did not malfunction in that year it shouldn't be bad meat. If it was bad before you put it in, or sat in the fridge after you took it out for awhile, then you might anticipate a tough 24 hours coming up.
I know someone who went with his friends up in the mountains last week. They bought steaks on the way and kept them in the trunk. That night they cooked them and got way sick for 24 hours but they kept on hiking.

Meat can be stored indefinitely if kept frozen however, the bacteria just goes dormant. If later it is left in the fridge, it will decay much quicker. Stomach ache and diarrhea are the signs of food poisoning and generally take care of themselves. If it were me, I'd let it go unless it gets particularly violent, then I'd see a doc.

That's why you should clean out your freezer at least twice per year and always write the date on frozen things in large print.

u should call the hospital in case it could be anything besides food poisoning, which could or may not be deadly but can be unbearably painful and if you are not feeling too sore yet get to the hospital emergency .or try to barf by putting a toothbrush handle in back of your tongue gently if there is a beer in the house that could kill some of the bad enzymes and some nutmeg can kill some too

i wouldnt suggest eating it but i dont think you should be too worried. freezing stuff helps it last a really long time. just to be sure, check it out with a doctor if your symptoms last longer than a couple of days
