Yes, mice can climb. I saw one climb up a curtain once and run along the top of the window. a bed or couch would be easy fo it to get on. I think she will be safe going to bed though because mice are usually afraid of people so if it gets on the bed it isn't going to stay there with her in it. Tell your friend to get a trap or poison. If she saw one she probably has more.

Can Mice Climb Walls

They can, but, most times mice want somewhere secluded. They like in a wall or closet where there plenty of boxes to nest in. An area that is used a lot will be their last choice.
Now looking around at night for food they may crawl onto a bed looking, Just be sure the sheets/blankets are tucked under the mattress to give less places for a mouse to climb up.

yes as everyone else is saying, mice are great at climbing...but as good as they are at getting up into high places, this doesnt mean they will..mice are alot more scared of people than people are of them..i mean duh, look at the size difference...a mouse is very un likley to run into a bed with a person in it...same for a couch...
the main problem from mice is tht they somtimes chew on things...disease spread by house mice these days is very small.
i personally think traps are cruel, as they crush the mouse but often the are still alive for atleast afew minutes, somtimes even trying to escape by drgging themsels and the trap along leaving a trail of blood..not nice...poison is not good either as they will often crawl into the walls n die causing a bad smell for ages...i suggest getting some professionals to come in and see what they can do...good luck

Yes, easily. However, they're not big on heights (see below) and typically stay close to the ground...traveling along walls and hiding in/under/behind things (cabinets, closets, walls, stove, fridge, etc). Unless she's keeping food/water on the couch or bed, she is unlikely to find any on there. She will, most likely, find them hanging out in the kitchen and bathroom...both water sources. If she has pets or children, they might be able to find small crumbs anywhere...not so easy with water. I don't recommend poison, it's cruel and you don't want a dead mouse left in the house. Glue traps aren't any better. The most humane and sanitary thing to do, is use a live trap made for mice (found at Tractor Supply Company, Wal-Mart, etc) and promptly release the mouse...in a field, woods, etc. Good luck.

About heights: Wild house mice and pet mice are the same species. A few people keep their pet mice on shelves/tables w/very low sides (not that I recommend it), because adult mice are not likely to leave it...b/c of the height. However, baby mice are a lot braver and often will leap or fall off. Anyhow, they can go pretty much anywhere, but they're ground dwellers.

Yes mice can climb on most anything and they can jump quite high, too.Tell her to go to bed but beware there could be a mouse visiting in the middle of the night.Seriously though if she moves in the night that mouse is going to take off.Its more scared of her than she is of it.

Yes they can climb just about anything!

Try spraying a cleaner around the area to ward them away. Or maybe if you know anyone with a dog bred for hunting small animals like yorkys or even a cat, have the pet stay with her until all the mice die out.

My yorky spent every night hunting the rats that snuck into our house from our neighbors shed. He finally killed them all. May cause a bit noise at night but it worked faster then spraying chemicals or setting traps.

Yes, they are EXCELLENT jumpers and can climb up any fabric their nails can get into. I've seen mice younger than 6 months jump over 2 feet straight up from the ground.

I wouldn't worry about it coming near her though. It will do everything in it's power to stay away from her. Bait some humane traps with peanut butter and put it outside.
