my 13 month old daughter breaks out in hives all over her body whenever she eats ketchup. Today she drank cranberry juice earlier and milk with strawberry syrup in it. I don't know which one it is or if it is both, but she broke out everywhere. She also breaks out when she drinks cherry koolaid. What could be in all of this stuff to make her alergic to it. like maybe red dye?? any info would be great. Oh and also italian dressing she breaks out as well.

You really should consult your pediatrician. If she is breaking out from foods, this would be something he/she could help you with. It could also be a new laundry detergent, etc. Really watch what you give her especially when it comes to new foods. At 13 months, it is advised to start slow with the introduction of foods. You should only give one or two new items to see if she has an allergic reaction. Koolaid should only be given if it is sugar free. Bad for her incoming teeth. Same goes with Strawberry syrup.

I've been allergic to red #40 since I was 12 - causes me to break out in hives. I would try stopping anything that has red dye in it and see if it helps. I've always been able to have ketchup until recently (a few weeks ago), even though it says it doesnt have red dye in it.
NOTE: even things that don't seem like they would have red dye in them do. Read every label!
