You can't stop your aunt from being bitchy about your inheriting the chest.Just make sure it is specified in the will that you get it. Then there's really no way to get in much of a fight over it. She can complain but when it is stipulated legally, there's nothing she can do about it.
I'm so sorry about your uncle, by the way. It's never easy to see someone sick who's not going to recover. Especially someone you love. My condolences to you, honey. Try to keep the environment calm around him. He needs that.

Pray for your uncle to actually be "healed." There is nothing that GOD can not do. Man is MIGHTY, but remember that GOD is ALMIGHTY. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have your uncle and the "beloved chest? " Read Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) - This is a long-winded and worthwhile psalm that addresses that which is "known" and that which is "unknown."
Those who are sincere need only ask, and God will listen. Read this every day, make time, even if your "time" is tight. BEFORE you enter a home or building, quietly say, "Peace Be To This House." - Luke 10:5 - Those who are on the "premises" will have a more peaceful demeanor. You will be able to take the credit for making things more "positive" all around. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with BENEFITS, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.

As long as your Uncle is of sound mind, his will can not be contested, especially over something that he made himself. You're aunt may pick a fight, but there is no way for her to legally win. Especially if he tells her to her face that it's for you and not her son/daughter. Sounds like you deserve it anyway.

If your Uncle willed it to you, take it. The same thing happened with my family and my grandpa's guitar. He willed it to me, but two other people wanted it. I wanted to hold on to that piece of my grandpa so I told them tough luck. Don't worry...this thing will blow over. Your family is stressed about your Uncle's sickness and when people get stressed they become irrational. Good luck with this and stay strong.

Well Dam it!
This is another case that I've seen with the same problem. I'm hoping I can answer your question by asking you something. (Who do you love the most, Your Uncle, Or the chest?)

I am so sorry to hear of your sadness. Stay strong for your Mother's sake.
When your Uncle's will is read, there should be no discussion about who he wanted to have the chest.
