The Bible is only relating the truth concerning those people and all the prophets. They were mere men. They were not worshipped nor deemed worthy of such. Prophets led the people in the ways of God and delivered the desires of God to them, but many times they fell short of God's expectations.
There is no more need for proof of man's inability to live perfectly by the law than what you have already discovered. Not one was able. The only person to ever live a perfect, unblemished life was Jesus. He was more than a prophet. He was and is God's only Son. He alone is the way of salvation for man, and following this perfection there is no need for another. Through the actions of a selfish man we were lost. Through the actions of a selfless man we have been redeemed.
I commend your studies and encourage you to continue reading and questioning God's word. Rest assured, that word can not be made to testify against itself. But more importantly I would urge you to study the very words Jesus spoke and examine how they apply to yourself.

What Bible are you reading honey?? Oh, the encyclopedia? Not really the place to get your Bible knowledge.
Lot wasn't a prophet, he was a riotous man. Aaron wasn't a prophet, he was a priest. (By the way, Aaron was actually insulting Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel, The One True Living God, not Allah the moon god.)
Noah could not have 'discovered' wine after the flood being the only folks on earth and all. He would have had to make it himself. And who wrote this down and on what?? And how did you get ahold of it?
Do not be deceived by Satan. There is only one True God and that is Great I am, The Alpha and Omega, the One who sent His Son Jesus Christ.

The Encyclopedia article is not only insulting, as you say, but in error. How is it that an article that misrepresents the "prophets", is considered by you to be from the Bible? Critical thinking is a wonderful thing. Ok, by the numbers: Bible says that David is the son of Jesse who is the son of etc., etc., etc.. The article says that David is a bastard. Get it? Article. Bible.
It is the article that insults the prophets, not the Bible.

The Bible is the result of God speaking to people such as Moses and David.
The Bible tells the truth. Jesus is the truth.
Prophets are men who are sinners. Muhammad is a sinner who was not sent by God.
God used people of His choice to speak to and to sanctify.

The Bible is telling the truth about fallen men. Strange that when the bible was supposedly altered no one bothered to take those parts out, huh?
And incidently, David was the only prophet out of the four you listed.

look, people are people, we are sinners, we are prone to do evil. The only improtant fact is, do we stay down and remain in our sin, or do we get up and repent. Aaron was like all of us, do we give to certain pressures when we are alone? Jesus was the only one who never sinned. His followers did and do sin, that is why he instituted the sacrament of recomsillation, he knew we'd sin, and we'd need to be absolved.

Q: Why is the bible insulting the prophets?
A: Political correctness hadn't yet been invented when the Bible was written. Attempts to communicate truth weren't considered insulting.

I hate to disillusion you but none of the biblical characters you mentioned were prophets. Prophets generally were respected but not particularly well liked because they told the people and kings the way things had to be and that way was not always easy.

Just goes to show, don't believe everything you read.
Noah (PBUH) and David (PBUH) were both Prophets of God!
God sent 124,000 Prophets to serve mankind, are there more stories concerning these?
Salaams,
