Never lies.
Never cusses or blasphemes.
Never lusts.
Never steals.
Never murders.
Never commits adultery.
Is still a virgin.

Would you expect someone who is all of these to be more likely an atheist or a Christian?

I'm atheist, so sin is meaningless to me when applyed to atheists. But, just go with the flow of the question anyway.

Okay, ignore the virgin part. *smiles*

I was giving examples - so the list is short on here.

Yes, two questions are being asked.

Atheist, obviously, though of course there's practically no-one who meets those criteria.

But if the person isn't allowed to lie, the Christian is at a serious disadvantage.

I think that many atheists are more sinless than many Christians but not for the reasons you state.

Everyone lies
everyone blasphemes
everyone lusts
everyone steals
hate someone = murder, so everyone murders
Lust after someone = adultery, so everyone does this too!

As for being a virgin, that is commendable in whatever situation you find yourself in, but your reasons for being a virgin could be a sin also.

I find that many atheists on this forum understand God's word better than most professing Christians. Which is the greater sin, knowing and rejecting, or claiming to know and having false righteousness? Hmm.

All humanity is convicted of sin under God;s Law. Only True Christains are forgiven those tresspasses.

Nope. Everyone sins. Some more, some less. Some more obvious, some more subtle. But everyone is guilty. The thing with sin is that it doesn't matter how much, but whether you're guilty of it or not. On that basis, everyone is guilty of being a sinner. In God's eyes, there are no degrees of "sinlessness".

To your 2nd question, either an athiest or Christian could exhibit those traits. They would indeed be a person of high moral character, but they would still be a "sinner" in some way, just like the rest of us.

Hi. Lets clear up a few inaccuracies.Whether you are a Christian,Atheist ,Agnostic,or any other organisation you are a member of has nothing to do with the amount of sin committed by any of the above labels. It is the individual only who is responsible for his actions Whether you say i am sinless because i am an Atheist does not matter God is the only one who knows if you have sinned or not.Now Christians know it is wrong to kill another person ,because if they do ,they are breaking one of God's commandments, and will be punished by man first, for breaking man's law and second they will be punished by God for breaking God's law unless they are sorry and ask God to forgive them. Now if an Atheist commits murder they are in the same position because they know (or should) it is morally wrong. You can't be excused from a crime because of a label you have given yourself Man's law does not take into account what your beliefs are.concerning God. You will still be found guilty and punished . But if you get away with it you will have to face God in the end.because killing is a sin whether you like it or not.You can't escape from it. You will be forced to accept the inevitable. You have sinned when you were born (original sin)before you gave yourself a fancy name for a non believer even though you do not believe in sin.So it is already too late now, to say i don't believe in sin.and i dont believe in God.The horse has bolted !

Is the question can an atheist be more sinless than a Christian or is a person who meets those criteria more likely to be an atheist or a Christian? You asked two.

To the first question: I imagine its possible. An atheist denies Christ, which makes it incredibly hard, but if you accept Christ yet burn his name, piss on all his work and rape babies I imagine your getting close to denying Christ altogether in action.

As to who is more likely to be that: neither. I know people who claim to be Christians and are more sinful than the atheists in terms of their actions and what they say. And I know Christians who really are as pious as the faith would like them to be.

And the same is true of some Atheists I've met. They have denied Christ, but as to those sins they certainly have never committed them. And again, vice versa: I know a few atheists who are indeed trying to reach the zenith of wickedness.

No one can be sinless and if you ever look at a guy like you want him; then you automatticaly have commited adultery and im sure that every single man or woman has done that. So no matter what, a christian is the only way to get to heaven because you will always have to believe that jesus came down from heaven, died upon the cross, rose up, and went to heaven and if we believe that and keep all of the ten commandments; then you will have eternal life.

A virgin, eh? Won't my wife and three children be surprised? One more thing that sets us apart from "Christians," darling one: all our prayers are answered.

An Atheist cannot be more or less sinless - the concept of sin is unique to religious ideology.

Assuming that Christian theology is correct for sake of argument - an Atheist would be bearing false witness by claiming to be atheist and by definition blaspheming. The other sins are arguable depending on what flavor of Atheism the subscribe to. (there are amoral atheists (do whatever you like, everything is relative or personal) and moral atheists (there are social mores to be upheld)

Whoa!!! Is this person you??? If so, you should feel very special. You are the first sinless person on earth since Jesus Christ.

I'm sure you're referring to yourself and your surely an atheist. That is great that you think you do not do these things you listed, but you do still sin, even though you may not recognize it as such. (for one thing, if you are an athiest, you have denied the Son of God and the One who sent Him- The Father).

Mans' ways are not Gods' ways. Because a person thinks him/herself sinless/riteous does not make them so.

I bet you're young. I bet that list gets shorter before you die.

First off. who hasn't lied? even as a child... "no, I don't know who broke the vase..." it's human nature. everyone does it.
then, the person may not have cussed or blasphemed aloud, but I'd be willing to bet they'd thought it.
Lust. it happens. it's hormones. can't really escape it.
murder. ok, I'll give you that one.
adultery too.
and virgin.
but the first few are difficult to impossible to achieve. Also, you have defined a very, very limited list of sins. there are many, many more. And it's impossible to be sinless.
This all has nothing to do with what religion they choose, though. Christians have all sinned, as have atheists. it's part of life. what they become depends on their family, on their personal history, on their culture. not on their personal sin.

An atheist would HAVE to be sinless as they are not believers! Sin is in the mind of the beholder; if you think you just committed a sin, then you did!
