Sounds like a good idea. Definitely better than simply being indoctrinated with a religion before you had the mental capability to truly understand it. I hope you find the belief system that is right for you.

A few months ago, I found Pantheism. It changed my life. It's kind of hard to explain it, but it's basically "the view that everything is of an all-encompassing immanent abstract God; or that the Universe, or nature, and God are equivalent. More detailed definitions tend to emphasize the idea that natural law, existence, and the Universe (the sum total of all that is, was, and shall be) is represented or personified in the theological principle of an abstract 'god'."

Don't try to fit into a religion, seek out a path that fits you. I would suggest you sift through the Religion/Spirituality section at your local library/bookstore.
Peace and good luck:)

Well, what is it you believe then? If you believe there is something else other then us, then atheism is not for you. Read a few religious books about the origins of the planet. Maybe a good starting point for you

Ephesians 4:5, There is only "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.
And Jesus himself said in Matthew 7:21" not every one saying to me(Jesus) lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my father who is in heavens will". Believing in Jesus is not a guarantee that we are in the truth.
I would encourage you to, try to talk to one of Jehovah's Witnesses in your place and observe as for me "I found the truth from the Bible and all the question I have before is being answered like; Why do people grow old and die? Why do God Allow people to suffer? and a lot more!
Why not try? nothing will be lost from you they be glad to explain to you everything from the Bible and not from their own thoughts or philosophy

Congratulations on widening your horizons, but there is really no question asked. I think you should go to the library, check out 1 book on each religion you would like to find out more about, and sit down read ,and contrast and compare.

Have you investigated the faith of "Egoism"? I think it is the main religion of the United States now.

I like it. You will probably like something about any. I do, but I do not require myself to believe all or nothing about any.
