Umm... I don't see anything about your face that would make me want to find someone else to help me... but I'll be honest, I'm a shy person and I make very little eye contact with everyone, so I would make some eye contact, not much, get help, say thanks and go about my business...

I don't see anything wrong with you. Obviously if you are working in a store, you are there to help. If I ask you for help, I'll be making eye contact, and yes, looking you in the face. I want to be sure I understand what I'm being told. I'm not sure I understand the question. I think you are asking if because you happen to be black, would I choose someone else to help me. My answer is no. UNLESS, I could see that you had some sort of attitude and really didn't want to be bothered. Then, I'd find someone else to help me.
I think there's too much time and energy being focused these days on whether someone is black/white/red/green and "am I too good to associate with them" because of it. We are all created equal. As long as you (general you, not necessarily you personally), are treating someone else with respect, you are entitled to receive equal respect from that person. The Golden Rule is definitely lacking in the world today. Most people are rude, inconsiderate, and have no regard for the feelings of others. There will always be these types of people. Remember "He who angers you, controls you." Each of us owes it to ourselves to be bigger people than that.
Hope this helps...you just keep doing what you're doing. There's nothing wrong with you.

I see nothing wrong with your face. I'd ask you for help if I needed it without question. And yes I would look you straight in the eye and thank you with a smile after you helped me. You work with the public and truth be told the public at large are rude idiots most of the time.

It really doesn't matter what you look like if someone is needing assistance.I don't see anything wrong with your face and I would still be able to make eye contact if you gave off a friendly vibe.If you gave off a I don't want to be here type of vibe I would most likely try to find someone else to assist me or not ask for assistance at all.

For the most part whenever I go into a store I don't need or want to be helped and sometimes I get really annoyed when sales people ask me if I need help, so don't take it personal sometimes people just want to be left alone when they're shopping. and why would you want a stranger to make eye contact with you anyway? that's weird, you shouldn't care so much!.

Most likely I'd ask for help, I usually just try to grab the nearest sales associate around. It would really depend on what kind of store it was though, if its like clothing retail, then probably not, for me its just a bit awkward having guys trying to help me pick out certain types of "garments".

I don't get it. What's so wrong with your face that I wouldn't want to look at you? I don't understand the question. Are you trying to make a point, or are you just fishing for compliments?
