this is my husband's e-mail
anyways i was at the pool and this lady began cuzing at me. she was sitting at the edge of the jaquzee when one of my kids jump in to and splash water at her, obviously accidentaly, well she turned around and ask to tell my son to not do that again cause it splash water on her and her book, so I did but in a second I hear her tell the person she was on the phone with, "Im going to slap one of this m---fckrs if they splash water on me again." I pretend not to hear but she started getting louder and then turned around and told me so. so then well I said you should probably move that way you wont get wet. to what she started saying it was public. and started using bad language. she leaves the pool and then for some reason I anwer back to all her crap and she comes around and spits at me. It really didn't get on me. I feel like a coward like maybe I should had fought. or did I do the right thing? I feel mad to my self

Answering back to someone like that usually doesn't end well, but sometimes you can get riled up by how rude people act and you can be forgiven for that. She was at a POOL, of course there was going to be water splashed about, she was the rude one that tried to start something because she got splashed with water, at of all places, a pool.

Next time you encounter someone like that, you know not to give in to their petty behaviour, don't feel bad about yourself, fighting her would have been even worse, and could have gotten you in trouble.

i think you did the right thing not to start a huge deal which i dont think it was. she jsut needs attention and wanted to start a scene. mature adults could handle the splashing calmly, obviously she couldnt, next time, jsut be the bigger person and say "Sorry, but this is a public pool, there are no signs posted that forbid accidents, is there? The library is right down the road if you need quiet reading space.." at this point she will probably be cursing like, "Who the *beep* do you think you are, *beep*? Go to *beep*!!" At which point you say, "Please stop using fowl language around children, I dont want them to grow up ignorant." then she'll be like, "I dont give a *BEEP*!!!!!" then she might stalk off or jump in the pool to hurt you at which point you jump out of the pool, collect your kids, open your phone, pretend to dial a number and be like, "Yes, officer, at 482 Main Street. Vulgar language, fowl play, and obscene gestures. Thank you, officer." Then snap the phone shut and say "You can leave now but he'll be here in eight minutes no matter what you choose to do."

Just keep your kids safe. But if there are others around the pool she probably wont do anythig....

U did the right thing. Obviously, ur kid was only trying to have fun. He/she didn't mean 2 piss dat woman off. She had been hving a rough day, and im guessing she needed 2 get her anger out on the first person that came along, hence u and ur kid!! Don't worry about it. U did the right thing. IF u had punished yourkid for accidentally splashing her, and let her win the fight it would have showed her that she can act that way to get hat she wants, and it would make your kid hate the pool. So, good job!! U did the right thing--dont beat ur self up about it!!

Don't be,you are a better person than her.She sounds like "the crazy lady at the pool" that everyone knows and avoids...lol..but seriously i would get a witness that saw her spit on you and file a complaint with the head lifeguard when you are bout to leave for the day. Even public pools have rules.

You rightly feel what other people feel when they didn't stick up for themselves by punching the other person out. She's the one who's being unreasonable to expect to sit by a pool and not get wet, no matter how public it is. Besides that it's unsanitary, illegal and wrong to spit on people and call them foul language like that. You did the tactful thing and didn't provoke the woman further and probably prevented it from getting even uglier. Be glad you're not married to her.

If some woman like that called my kid a mother f'er, I would have gone crazy on her a**! On the other hand, she sounded like she herself was a looney kinda of person. Who gets mad for getting wet while sitting so close to a Jaquzee?
Anyway, at least that lady didn't get violent with you or your son. You did the right thing. You were calm about the situation, unlike her. Don't be mad at yourself. You were the adult in the situation. Congrats!

You did the right thing. You were the better person and you have to remember you had your little ones there. No kid wants to see mommy in a fight it is embarrassing and also very scary for a child to witness.I remember these girls when I was a kid got into a fight and jumped this women with her 3year old child I felt bad for her and was stunned.I still cant forget about it to this day.You are no coward you are a great mom and did the right thing.People like that always get theirs in the end.

Sure seems to be a lot like that now. I do not know what a person can do. What you have done is about all there is. If you are not afraid of some trouble then challenge her.

I hate people like that. No, they are not worth it to fight. You did the right thing, kudos to you. Plus, fighting the dumb *** would not set a very good example now would it?
