Why are Christians the only type of people it is okay to hate and bad mouth today?

I meant to word the question: Why is THIS the only politically correct hate today?
Also, I do believe that Christianity is the true religion, but I am not a practicing Christian myself.

Really? I hear people bad mouth atheists all the time. The news the papers, even the president. But yes, I understand, it's only Christians who matter. I thought is was a badge of honor to be a persecuted christian? So quit your wining.
Atheists are the last minority in this country that are legally allowed to be persecuted. If Jews, blacks or Mexicans were to be legally discriminated against as us Atheists regularly are, the uproar would be stupendous. But since its just Atheists, who gives a ****, right??? At least that seems to be the general attitude. From thousands of pulpits every Sunday, chickenshit preachers slam Atheists for everything that's wrong in the world, much like Hitler used to blame "the Jews". Preachers seem fearless in their slander and gossip, and regularly make up lie after lie. Back when I was a Christian, I was of the (uneducated) opinion that there must be MILLIONS of organized Atheists out there just ready to burst thru the church doors and kill us. After I lost my religion, I found out that in most cities, the number of church janitors easily exceeds the number of organized Atheists, and the vast majority OF those Atheists were well into their golden years.

Christians are the biggest political correctness police there are. For example, if a Presidential candidate dissed the Christians, his campaign would be over that same day.

Oh, I don't hate anyone based on their ideologies. I hate their ideologies, though. I hate christianity, islam, judiasm, hinduism, and all of their various spin-off religions. I mildly dislike paganism, wicca, and buddhism. I hate the first group because they are directly responsible for death and insanity and stupidity amongst humans. I harbor only mild dislike for the second group because, in their current states, they are mostly non-offensive, if perhaps a bit silly, but I am sure they could always morph, under the right conditions, into irrational juggernauts of pain, death and irrationality like their first group counterparts.

I disagree. Fat people are a huge target of ridicule and discrimination. (huge target, lol!)
TRUST ME, Christians aren't the only objects of ridicule

Um, have you ever heard of Muslims? And what about Sikhs (the guys in the Turbans, who most people think are Muslims,) and Hindus? Have you watched any episodes of "The Simpson's" where they make fun of Apu?
I think you're just sensitive, and only notice when people make fun of you.

Poor poor Christians! Everybody picks on them. All those laws against straight people getting married, not being allowed to have god's name on our money or in the pledge they force my kids to say at school. Oh, how horrible to be so repressed when you're in the majority.

The only groups I think it's politically correct to "hate" are groups that hate other groups.

B/C we are the only ones carrying the Truth and they can't stand the light.
Does anyone notice any atheists being persecuted for their views?
Does anyone notice agnostics constantly ridiculed for the lack of belief?
Yet, Christians are the ones in the crosshairs of verbal abuse.
