Puppyhood is the easiest time to change a dog's diet. Are you planning on switching between brands or choosing to raw feed?
Either way, do your research and remember that while some brands or feeding methods by appear to be more expensive to purchase, the amount you feed is often much less and the health benefits can be enormous!

You will need to make the switch to a different food gradually in order to avoid any gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, stomach cramps, refusal to eat.The switch should be done over the course of at least a week.On the first day of change, fill his/her bowl with the old food and just add a few kibbles of the new food brand. So just gradually increase the amount of kibbles you add on to the new food over the course of the entire week or longer until you completely run out of the old food.

Yes it is fine to swith your puppy's food. You may want to transition to te new food gradually over the course of a week. For example on Day 1 feed 25% new food and 75% old food and gradually increase new food and decrease old food over the week until the puppy is just on the new food.
I have read that it is actually beneficial to change a dog's food every 3 or 4 months b/c
1) Who wants to eat the same thing every day FOREVER?
2) It is good to use different portein sources. If you the current food uses chicken, it is good to switch it up with beef. fish, lamb, etc.

Yes its fine, preferably to a high quality one such as Canidae, Innova, or Solid Gold to name a few.
Do so slowly or your dog may have some digestive upset. Mix the two foods together, at first it should be mostly the old food, and a little bit of the new. Over the course of a week gradually reduce the old, and increase the new.

Yes, but you should do it gradually as not to upset the digestive system.
