Any Bible believing Christian believes God created everything just like Jesus says, I have never heard of any Baptist school teaching evolution but they are probably out there. If you wouldn't mind sending me an email on that I would love to know what they are teaching. Very few people in the world today really believe in evolution, take this website, if all the people are atheists that say they are than why are they here. The truth is we all have a built in instinct in us telling us there is a God. I believe his name is Jesus Christ, I have seen miracles done in his name. He changed my Life. He took me from a poor miserable soul to a person with a smile on his face and I have no worries any more. I am not searching anymore, I have found what I was looking for, a peace that you can't describe, that doesn't mean my world is perfect, but I can lay down and sleep at night with a hope. And hope is good thing, maybe the best thing. Love is a good thing, I am loved. I had my house blessed by my Pastor, people who come in it now say it has a peace about it. Jesus is my Lord and Saviour, you can make him yours today, just say this simple prayer, and Christ will save you, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

I grew up catholic and they are pretty weird, much weirder than most the Baptists I have met. Not as weird as the JW's and the Mormons.

You will find that there really isn't any such thing as a Baptist at least in the sence that there is a Catholic, a JW, a Mormon, a Lutheran or the like. What I mean is the name refers to 25% of the US population and there isn't much unity of belief among them Southern Baptists are the biggest group and they are what most people think of as Baptist, however they are quite liberal when compeered to the Baptists of the 1600's which are represented by the modern fundamentalist (A name which the liberal media, and protestants have successfully tarnished. And which the American Liberal Media connected with Islamic Fundamentalism to the bewilderment of the historian J.M. Roberts. See: A History of Europe) although the fundamentalists are of many denominations today they are almost all Baptist, Congregationalist, or non-denominational. I am a fundamentalist Christian but do not consider my self a Baptist although my wife was raised Baptist and our theology is in 100% agreement. I think some of the more orthodox of them are good churches, while mega-churches like one in Hammond Indiana send up red flags with me. Because the good Baptist churches hold the biblical doctrine of independent church(s) with Christ as the head they are open to charismatic leaders leading them down strange and often heretical roads. Nevertheless, the damage is finite unlike in the Catholic Church where the heresy infected all the churches. As far as the question goes, I don't see how you could be a Christian and not believe in "intelligent design" (God Created...), but I don't think that is what you mean. "Theistic evolutionist" to me is throwing bad theology after bad theory. For me either Darwin is right or the Bible is right-you can't have it both ways. If evolution has any merrit (I think it has none!) than the Bible is simply not true. And if the Biblical account of creation (That is what is in question here.) is true than evolution is not. We can all agree that the Christian God had the power to make the world any way
he chose to make it. But that is not what is recorded in Genisis. For in that book is a clear 6 day creation story.
I noticed that the Catholic Church is postureing concerning the issue of evolution in the last few weeks. PS I would like to see the atheists "Scientists" out there give me a paragraph on the problems that entrophy (2ed law of thermodynamics) poses for darwinian evolution. You talk as thought science hold a monolithic postion on any thing (It never did). Show me that you know what you are talking about and then we will debate.

First, Baptists represent some 5% of Christians, and the majority of Christians believe in evolution. So yes, it is a "Christian" position for a Baptist school to be anti-intelligent design. But it is not a Baptist position, because the majority of Baptists endorse intelligent design.

Yes it is. "Intelligent design" is a US device to secure fundamentalist a place in scientific debate, but it's not a Christian dogma. It doesn't creat a stir among Christians outside of the US.

Take all the Christians away that contributed to science and theories and we would all be eating raw food because there would not even be a fire and Precious Darwin would not have paper or understanding of proper vowels, pronouns, to write he would be carrying a club looking for a mate.

since christians are supposed to abhor lying, and "intelligent design" is essentially concerned with lying about science, it is a perfectly consistent position for scientifically literate christians to take.
