If you have to ask that question the military is not for you. Combat is not the only role of the military but it is still a role. Any MOS is needed in a combat zone even if the MOS is not a combat one. That same question is what got Pauly Shore in trouble in the movie in the army now.

There are no Army MOS's that do not deploy.
Even the chemical warfare soldiers assigned to a division or brigade deploy when their unit deploys.
While they might not be doing much chem war fare traning, they will have them doing other necessary jobs.

The purpose of the Army is to kill people and break things with lead & HE. Not siting at Ft. DIX practicing the tuba for the band. If you are not up to what the job calls for? Stay out, we don't need you... Go work at Walmart, they don't deploy......
