Luke and Mathews were written by the disciples of Jesus when those are merely the names of those gospels, that Paul was a disciple of Jesus, when he wasn't even there, that Jesus started Christianity even though Jesus was a faithful Jew and never heard of Christianity because the name wasn't coined until years after Jesus died. How can Christians be so poorly informed about even the basics?

Religion's best weapon against losing its members is keeping them ignorant. Preventing them from thinking freely so they don't ask questions or use logic.

Since when have you ever argued with a Christian who actually understood or ever paid any attention to the opposing point of view?

Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. Mark is the shortest Gospel so it would make since for Mathew to have been copied from it. Mark was also a disciple of Jesus'. These two Gospels were from a first-hand, eye witness point of view. Luke was a physician who accompanied the Apostle Paul on most of his missionary journeys. Luke was a scholar and conducted many interviews from people who witnessed the Gospel take place for two years while Paul was in prison. Finally, John is in fact set apart from the other Gospels in that it is poetry and not written solely for historical record. This is not to say that it isn't historically accurate. Lastly, you mentioned that the Gospels contradict each other. If you would take the time to research the Greek text, you will find that the only contradictions are in the grammar and syntax which is to contributed to the various levels of education. For example, Luke was a doctor and Matthew was a fisherman. Anyways, you are correct in assuming not all four knew Jesus. Luke never did. The other three however, did. And quite well might I add.

That's Protestantism for ya.....free to give it any ol' interpretation they want. then they wonder why there are more than 30,000 groups of them!

All of Jesus' 12 apostles were Jews as were most of his disciples. Jesus was a very devout Jew. Even though the term Christianity was coined years later, Jesus still uses the term "my church" in MT 16:18.

Matthew and John were the two gospel writers who were also apostles. Luke was a travel companion of Paul and Mark was Peter's interpreter.

Paul was not an apostle....but he was a disciple. However, paul does refer to himself as an apostle....just not a superapostle like the others. (Yes, Paul does use the term "super-apostle).

Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 1 COR. 9:2

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 1 COR 15:9

2 Corinthians 11:5
But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles." 2 COR 11:5

I am not in the least inferior to the "super-apostles," even though I am nothing.
2 COR 12:11

Hehheee what do you expect from a bunch of SELF proclaimed sinners?!? Morals or knowledge...heheheeeee.

Many christians advocate the teachings of 'Paul' over those of 'Jesus'. 'Jesus' continually teaches to honor the old covanents, while 'Paul' promoted FAITH in a 'bloody lamb'.

With this 'bloody lamb' concept, it makes people LAZY. If a christian does something BAD, its okay their 'bloody lamb' cleans up the mess. On the OTHER side of the coin, Christians don't have to do 'good' things, because they are just a sinner after all.

One should note though that Peter says that 'faith' is merely a FIRST step.
2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

Hehhee but most christians don't like that verse, cuz it basically is telling that they have to get up off the sofa and actually DO something good.

Christians throw common sense out the window with self responsibility/

Hab 2:16 the cup from the Lord’s right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.

Since the early days of Xianity knowledge and learning has been frowned upon hence the destruction of the great Library of Alexandria as well as Hypatia it's head librarian by being flayed alive with the shells of abalone by devout Xians.

I would bet that atheists generally know more about Xianity that Xians.
That's cos we looked for 'god' and couldn't find him cos he was never there but during the looking we learned about the concepts, myths, fables and history surrounding the beliefs in the invisible sky pixie.
Hence, we know more about their religion than they do.

I don't know they're so much misinformed as wilfully iggerant.
They seem to wear their simple mindedness and ignorance as a badge of honour, almost.

Jesus was an Orthodox Jew. His followers were Orthodox.Paul was beyond Orthodox. He would be like a 'Hassidim' today.Their whole lives and ministries ,they always considered themselves Jews who were followers of "The Way" or "That Way".The way Jesus taught. By the first Century Judaism was way off course ,most had given up looking for Messiah to come.Jesus came and took all the man-made teachings they were going by and brought it back to the real Word of God.The Way was basically being a Fundamental Jew.That's why Jesus would say "You have heard it said...(the Rabbinical man-made teachings) but I say to you...(what the Old Testament really taught)".....
Jesus threw out Shemei and Halleil and other rabbis for the real Word of God.That's why Paul says (after his brilliant coming to truth and revelation) "Not all who call themselves Jews are Jews ,real sons of Abraham." Because they were following men and not God.As the Bible says "Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him as righteousness".
These Jewish commentaries had God so low as to spend much time studying his own Torah.Blasphemy!!

Well the name "jiveman" fits you well. You are correct the labal "Christain" came later, what would you prefer we call ourselves? And what is your point here? You know the history of the Church better than most Christians? Likely not, but even if that was true again what's you're point? When the label "Christian" become official is hardly worth a lot of debate.
