My dog has been acting out of sorts lately. He is rather lethargic, and has been drinking less water and since about 2 days ago he is having trouble eating. As well there is really thick slime dripping from his mouth that I have to wipe up ever once in a while. I took him to the vet and all the tests are normal so far, but I know that there is something wrong with him. I think perhaps there is something stuck in his throat, which would explain the inability to eat and the slime, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you should get a second opinion?? like get an xray to make sure there is no obstruction anywhere.

You didn't give any details what kind of tests were done, what the dog was doing before he started showing symptoms, what you're feeding him, how old he is, etc.
Those are some details that may help others give you some ideas (I can only post one response).
But if you really think there's something wrong with him, and the current vet doesn't, try another vet for a second opinion.

What all did the Vet do when he saw the dog? Did he run blood tests? X-ray?

Is your dog having bowel movements? The symptoms could be so many things that it is pretty impossible for any of us to say with any certainty. If he isn't having bowel movements or still refusing food and hardly drinking, I would get him back to a Vet as soon as I could. My biggest concern would be a blockage in the intestines.

Hopefully, he simply ate something that disagreed with him.

Have you checked to see if there is something lodged in his mouth? My sister had a dog that did this exact same thing, and he had a piece of plastic stuck in his teeth WAY in the back of his mouth! Could not close his mouth all the way, drink, eat, nothing. He also drooled like he had a faucet in his mouth! She was ready to have him put to sleep before she found the object.
