Clouds and watermellons are 98% or more water. So are they same thing? Two percent can make a whale of a difference.

According to definition, a species is any group of organisms that can interbreed and have fertile offspring. Humans are not chimpanzees, or monkeys, or gorillas, or orangs, or any other species, at least according to the biological definition, and neither are any of the other primate species human.
All humans share over 99% of the same DNA. Chimps share anywhere from 95% to 98% of the same DNA as humans, depending on what parts of the genetic material you examine. This percentage does not apply to the monkeys, which are classified different than the apes (the apes include the chimps, orangs, gorillas, baboons, etc.).

Humans and monkeys are both animals.
Humans are a type of animal, just as monkeys are a type of animal.
A monkey is not a human, and a human is not a monkey.

A monkey is a human if its DNA is over 99% similar to us (thus, 'similar' meaning being human). Being 98% similar in DNA it's a monkey.

Everything in this world is either human or non-human. There is no such thing as half human and half animal.
If a monkey is a monkey, then he is not human. If a monkey is human, then he is not a monkey.
Monkeys are animals and not humans, and not ancestors of humans.
Monkey parents never gave birth to a human. Human parents never gave birth to a monkey.

Chimpanzees DNA is 99% the same as ours. Chimpanzees are closer to humans than they are to gorillas, or any other apes. A human and a chimp are closer related than a mouse and a rat. You can also get blood transfusions from a human. Because of that, humans are technically apes. If we are not apes, than neither are chimps. We are all animals though.
Praise God!

Chimpanzee's DNA is 94% identical to humans. Chimpanzee's are apes, not monkeys. Humans are a separate species from any monkey or any other other species of apes that isn't human.
