According to Dreamcrowd:
To see your brother in your dream, may symbolize some aspect of your relationship with him. It can also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has certain characteristics/behavior similar to your brother's. If you do not have a brother and dream that you have one, then he may symbolize characteristics that you need to acknowledge within yourself. The brother in your dream can also be synonymous with a close friend or buddy. Brother also has religious implications and thus represents spiritual issues. Consider also the familiar phrase "big brother is watching you" which indicate that your dream has to deal with issues of authority and oppression. To dream that you are mad or angry at your brother, signifies repressed anger that you are feeling but afraid to express in your waking life.
To dream that you are in or see a boat, signifies you ability to cope and express your emotions. Pay particular attention to the condition and state of the waters, whether is is calm or violent, clear or murky, etc. Are you "smooth sailing"? Alternatively, you may be ready to confront your unconscious and unknown aspects of yourself. To dream that you are trying to jump off a boat, suggests that you want to dive directly in and confront those difficult emotions and approach your problems head on.

This is awesome! I definitely think you met your Grandpa. You might see more of him now in your dream world. I think he's stuck here for some reason and can't move on. This has happened to me with both my grandma (died of cancer) and my ex-spouse (who died in a violent car crash at 21 years old). I have seen them both frequently in dreams...talked about their deaths...precise details...etc. It's warming and hurtful all wrapped together.
I have a very special dream world where I can control them and become awake inside of a dream and I truly believe this started when my loved ones who have passed started coming to me in dreams.
Hope this helps! Happy dreaming!

I think you were just dreaming about death. We always think of death as 'Crossing Over the River Jordan". My thought on talking to spirits is not to do it when one appears because it probably is Satan or one of his angels. I'm sure
God is there, but we can not ever see Him again until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to earth. I hope it was your grandpa. I think you could see him, anyway. Grams

You may have. I have heard that we let our guards down when we are asleep. Ask your dad if he has any pictures of his dad. Confirm your own suspicions
