You might and you might not - you cant order your body to do whatever you want it to do but you can try your best to be healthier.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-500cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few days a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The idea here is not to "diet" but to learn a healthier lifestyle. At your age, 180 pounds is not healthy, and although you should never try to attain the look of the models and actresses, it is best to lose the weight now. Childhood obesity leads to adult obesity...I know, because I was an overweight child myself.
When you hit puberty, you will actually put on weight since your hips and breasts become more developed.
Don't go overboard and starve yourself..that is the worst thing you could do. Try cutting out sweets. Drink diet cola instead of regular. Have your mom get 1% lowfat milk instead of whole. Make sure you eat breakfast..something like yogurt and fruit, oatmeal, whole grain cereal..but don't skip it. Reach for healthier snacks like fruit. See if you can get your parents to take you to a nutritionist.
As for exercise, why don't you try joining an afterschool activity or sport you really like? Or go for a walk, bike riding, or a martial arts class or dance class? That way you can be active and have fun doing it.
Remember it takes time to lose weight in a healthy manner so don't get discouraged. Just eat right and exercise and as you grow and shed a few pounds, you'll look stunning.
Good Luck!

1. get active and have fun
2. cut your meals into a smaller portion
3. NEVER let nobody or yourself put you down and say you cant do it!!!
i hate exercising but instead of being bored with it, i invite my friends to do it with me or i would hook up my TV close to my treadmill and watch my fave movie! you'll notice how time flies by and you burned about 200 calories!! make sure you don't over do it, walk at a fast pace and be convertible! and your a tall person so maybe some of the weight comes form your bone mass.

Definitely! You can definitely lose 60 pounds if you are determined but yes, you are still growing so don't worry. Sorry if I'm not of any help, I'm almost 12 too.

Baby, you're still growing! Please wait until you finish going through puberty before trying to lose weight. Just remember to eat healthy and exercise and your weight will take care of itself. Take out the junk food from your diet (except for the occassional treat) and try to exercise some every week. Don't worry about it too much! You're only 12 and that's way to early to be worrying about your weight. Don't ever compare yourself to the models you see in magazines. They are all airbrushed and fake. As long as you feel healthy yourself, I think that you'll be fine. Please take care of your body. God bless...
