I bought the car from a man in SC it is a 69 Chevelle and the Vin # is only 13 digits so i can not use Car Fax and NCDMV can not find out anything... What do I do next?

In North Carolina you can apply for a "bonded" title, which means that you will have to put up a bond equal to the value of the vehicle. They will then issue you a title. After a period of time (I think it is three years but I am not sure) with no one claiming that the car was not yours, the bond is returned to you!

You may also check with the SC DMV, to see if they still have a record of the previous owner.

Consult the guys at the wrecking yard and they will tell you how to get a new title.Just get a lien bill of sale.

you are asking the wrong people at the wrong place, 90% of these ppl on here are stupid and lame and rarely serious.

have you tried DMV? hope this will teach you to keep track of important papers. just donate it if you don't want it anymore can't sell it to anyone w/o a title.
