He will descend from heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel, the sound of a trumpet. The dead people who accepted Christ will rise from the dead to meet Him in the air. After that those who are in Christ and still alive with rise to meet Him in the air too.
This is how we can tell who the real Jesus is. If anyone else claims to be Jesus and the above things didn't happen on his arrival, chances are they are not the real deal.

Well Jesus said it himself, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day."
Or how about this, "the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God" 1Th 4:16

You Christians is fine with me.
But to answer your question:
"And then shall that Wicked (the antichrist) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming" - I Thes. 2:8
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth." - Zech. 14:12
"But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. " - Psm 37:20
"For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." - Mat 24:27-31
In other words, the return of Jesus Christ is going to be for the world, a cataclysmic event. When the antichrist reveals himself to make war against Jerusalem, and surrounds it with armies to take it and destroy it, the Lord will return to destroy all of His enemies with the brightness of His radiant glory. He is holy. He is an all consuming fire. no sinner can stand in His presence without being completely consumed in that fire. That is how we will know it is Him.

many have and will come proclaiming to be Jesus. There will be many more false prophets in the last days. But the Bible says Jesus will come riding on a cloud with the sound of a loud trumpet. I hardly doubt any one else who is not Jesus will be able to do this! :o)

Mam,
There will NO need for Him to prove it, everyone will know. That event will be so glorious that even the non believers will know that it is Jesus. He will return with great power and glory. You will not have to ask, is it Him.

Christ will come with the rising of the Sun, and there will be angels blowing trumpets and everything. The whole shebang. He isn't going to be just some guy on the street saying "I am Jesus!"

What I think is ironic (or hypocritical if you will) is that christians won't merely accept that the next guy who says he is Jesus, actually *is* Jesus.
I.e. they will demand proof (descending from the clouds with trumpets blazing).
Yet when an atheist demands proof, we are possesed by the devil.
Isn't that cute?

The bible says "try the spirit by the Spirit" . The Holy Spirit, who lives in us , doesn't lie and that's how we know. And the unbelievers don't need to know, they won't go up anyway.......
