I don't have any statistics to prove my point, but if say a study came out tomorrow that said if gay marriage were allowed there would be more homes for which children could be adopted, would you still be against it?
I tie this in with abortion because people who are prolife usually give adoption as an aternative to abortion, yet I have a feeling many of them don't adopt at all.
So, would you be for gay marriage if it provided more homes for yet to be adopted/orphan children?

Lindsey, I'm afraid you may be correct. I just wanted to see what the Christians had to say.

storge70: You'd rather they be in an orphanage than a loving home? I thought you Christians were all about love.

Humbert dear, you are forgetting one important thing. Christians don't care what happens to the kids after they're born. Their concern ends after they succeed in shoving their beliefs down other people's throats. At least that is what I have to conclude based on Christian bible morals....they're against abortion, but also against gays adopting. They don't care that there are too many kids in the world already without good families. Their religion is about control, not about concern for the actual kids that they want to force women to bring into the world.
according to CSUF's logic atheists should be banned from adopting. Nice....?

I find it interesting that the question is toward Christians and yet the hateful world answers. I see no teachings from Christ that tells me or anyone else to shovel anything down any ones throat. He told us to love as He first loved. Don't hate the game, hate the player. And that goes both ways. I would not want a dysfunctional Christian adopting a child any more than I would want a dysfunctional homosexual adopting a child.

I would say that once the governments of the world and the people that make money off of adoption and abortion get out of the way and let those who wish to adopt can, then we can look at other options. Right now both camps are more concerned about the money then they are the child's best interest. Anyone that makes money at the expense of a child's life will be held accountable for their actions. And that goes for those who are misguided in the church.

The assertion made by Lindsay that Christians don't care what happens to children is refuted by the many Christian orphanages. Your question doesn't find support in the Christian community because it's like asking if a Christian thinks that it was OK for Robin Hood to steal from people since he gave the money to the poor.

A Christian says "No, it's not OK to steal no matter what you do with the money" and critics say that means that they don't care about the poor when Christians are very charitable as a group and many churches help poor people.

In the same way a Christian isn't going to say that two people of the same sex should be allowed to compromise the Holy Covenant of Marriage as ordained by God because some good might result from it.

If the secular government wants to give gay people the right to form civil unions and receive benefits then that's up to them. But changing the definition of marriage to include same sex couples is just another way of sanctioning a lie.

It's like the political correctness movement that wants to call people who can't see "visually challenged" in order to protect their feelings. Sure they are visually challenged but they are also blind. Changing the definition doesn't change the reality but it does serve to obscure truth in the minds of the children who will follow this generation.

Please don't lump everyone into your shallow pool of associates. I personally know MANY Christian couples who have adopted children...no not just one child but several!! And yes they are believers in the word of God that says a man should not lie with a man as he would a woman and yes they are FOR SURE against the MURDER of an innocent life!

Actually there's already a long waiting list for adoption because of abortion. So there's yet another way in which gay marriage exaccerbates the problems in the society. It will become even more difficult to adopt children.

Nice question, but the issue is sin, not whether or not gay partners should adopt. People need Jesus, and Jesus is the only answer.

This has to do with the Word of God....therefore, it is about faith. We trust that it will all work out for the best if we obey His word...not follow the reasoning of man. In fact, often times obedience brings very difficult consequences (consider the apostles deaths for instance). But we live by faith.

its better for them to remain in an orphanage than have gay parents. I think single parents should be allowed to take care of them, Im a single parent now and would love to take care of another child, if that is possible when I graduate from college and have a bigger income to provide for their needs, I will :) I love being a mom.

The practice of homosexuality is destructive to the human soul. God makes it clear that homosexuality is a sin (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Jude 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 21:8). Supporting gay marriage is a sin because it means to support homosexuality and the perversion of Holy Matrimony. If a nation legalizes gay marriage, that nation will be cursed.

Homosexuality is caused by iniquity. Iniquities (tendencies that cause one to sin) pass down the generation line (Numbers 14:18). When one accepts Lord Jesus as their Saviour, God forgives their sins and removes their iniquities (evil tendencies) in the subsequent transformation process which makes one more and more like Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Hebrews 9:12-14
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

After genuinely accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, ALL sinners (those who practice homosexuality, alcoholics, liars, drug addicts, fornicators etc.) will be saved and transformed. Each believer is cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and receives the infilling of the Holy Spirit who renews them.

REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

Because mankind is incapable of meeting God’s standard of perfection necessary to abide in God’s presence (Romans 3:19-20,23), God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the total debt for the believer’s sins and mercifully credits to his account Christ’s righteousness (Romans 3:21-28,5:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). Jesus’ gracious act of atonement was complete and covers all sin (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:9). Salvation is not based on good deeds but according to the mercy of God (Titus 3:4-5). Believers are justified by faith; it is a gift by God’s grace (Romans 4:3-8; Ephesians 2:8-9). A true, living faith will result in a desire to live a holy, loving life of good works (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26), but failure to be absolutely successful at righteous living does not negate the believer’s justified status.

If you sincerely say this prayer, your sins will be washed away, you will be redeemed to God, be saved from eternal torment and inherit the Kingdom of God:

"Dear Jesus,

I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me and save me by your shed blood;
come into my heart.
I want to receive you as my own personal Lord and Savior.

Amen"

Most, almost all newborns do get adopted. I am not for, nor against Gay marriage, it is there life to live, and I am no one to judge them, yet if they are not willing to bring up the child in a life which at least introduces them to God, I wouldn't be for it.
