It really woud be up to her to tell him if this is so! You say MAY HAve, so you don't know for sure !! You would have to be 100% for sure that he did have HIV before telling someone that he died from it !!! There are alot of people who spread lies in this world and talk about something they know nothing about, LIke why a person may have died, they will even say WHy the person died( LIke they really Know) and they really don't even know, trust me !! I know there is those who don't know what they are talking about and go around lie"in !! They will even lie about someone having a diease I'm sure !! Never believe just what you hear from others !! Make sure you find out the truth for yourself before telling others too !!

Think of it this way....would you want someone to tell "you" if you were romantically interested in someone and thought about having a relationship with them? Think of it this way....if you were walking along a dark road at night and couldn't see a cliff you are about to step over, what kind of friend would your friend be whose standing right there at the edge knowing you are about to fall over to your death and doesn't say a word to warn you.
Again, think of it this way...."Do unto others as you would have them do unto you....."Jesus Christ.
The person who should really tell your close friend is the girlfriend. But sadly, people are selfish or embarrassed or in denial and won't get themselves checked for STD's. If this were my friend, I would tell him because real love is truthful. Your friend may already know, but you won't know for sure until you have a heart to heart talk with him. The risk for you is his girlfriend may get angry with you and maybe even your friend might get angry. But this would be worth the risk if it were my friend. The good news is you could very well save your friends life...and quality of life. By telling, this could encourage the girlfriend to get tested so she can be responsible about relationships and her own health. Early detection of HIV is critical because it can be treated and it can prevent unecessary spread to others who will be victims. I know this because I am a nurse.
Good luck and keeping you and those involved in my prayers.

Yes you need to tell. I would tell my friend. First you need to go to the source. It may be just a rumor. I would make sure of that before I went any further . After that has been confirmed then tell your friend. Something like that could ruen a persons life.
