I really like someone who returns my feelings in the same manner. He just recently moved away for college and we only had one date. We keep in touch and talk almost every day. Nothing in our feelings has changed. He even says he loves me. I recognize the pressures and challenges a long distance relationship can bring. Nevertheless, I think we could both handle it.
We are both very shy about bringing up anything concerning ourselves (as in relationship subjects). He is someone I can completely trust because I've known him for a few years and can trust his character. I'm shy and worried about bringing up the subject because I had a previous bad experience with someone else. How can I bring up the question of whether we are in an actual relationship or not? Should I just be direct and take the risk or just let things continue as they are, with no other reason but that uncertainty to complain of?

Be direct or you will never find your answer. This is obviously important to you and you need to express your feelings to him. He might think otherwise if you never bring it up.

Don't be afraid of what answer you get in return, what you seek is clarity. He sounds like he cares about you as you do him so it should go well. Good luck!

what uncertainty??? do you really need to put a label on your relationship --- let it grow at its own pace --- there is no need to constrain it by putting walls around it what you can and cant do ---- trust him, be honest, be faithful (really more for him than you thats part of the trust) and see each other as often as possible then move closer as soon as possible ---- best wishes
