While I would never agree to taking away anyone's right to vote, I think we would be a much better place.Too many Christians judge their candidates on their religious beliefs and not what they will do for the country. The politicians know this and pretend to believe the same way. Abortion is the biggest political tool we have ever seen no anti abortion politician is going to make massive changes in the abortion laws because it brings them too many votes, and millions will not vote for those that believe in choice.

Who do you mean by 'Christians' There are far more 'Christians' who don't go to Church than there are who do. Fundamentalist Christians are as bad as fundamentalist Muslims, or Jews, or any other faith. It's just that they haven't grown up in their faith. They still rely on the milk when they should be getting their teeth into the meat of their belief. Rather like bringing up a child. You wouldn't feed a five or six year old on milk and rusks, would you? Likewise the same can be related to faith & belief.
Disenfranchising parts of society is not in the interest of the society as a whole. That is what democracy is all about, if you believe in a democratic society of course. Any place would be better without self opinionated bigots, not just America.

Then it wouldn't be America would it? Because the America I know, gives me the right to vote, no matter my religion. If they didn't let Christians vote, it woudn't be any kind of free country. Who would want to live there?

80% of Americans are Christians; if they are not allowed to vote, then why have an election? You need a break my friend,,,I too. Have a wonderful evening all.

Yes and no.
The problem is, too many *professing* Christians think that if someone waves a Bible and says he believes in God, it's good enough for them. That's why we have a fake Christian as president right now.
People need to be informed--and discerning.
I'm a Christian and I don't support Bush.

Well...we don't need to go back in time and take away anyone's right to vote. However, maybe we can make beliefs something that can NOT be used to attract voters, especially when they then turn around and do nothing they talked about once they get elected.

Okay, I'm gonna give that a big, hairy No! The whole point of democracy is that everybody gets to vote. You are quite the comic!

Why stop there? Why not deprive other groups of civil and human rights? Totalitarian systems have worked so well in the past!
Fear of freedom quickly degenerates in ideological terror. Human and civil rights can only be assured for some, if they belong to all.

Maybe you heard that Christians elected Bush, or maybe *conservative* Christians elected Bush; but what if he just cheated to win?
