Not good, something die near the intake or is there fungus growing on the evaporator.

It probably means one of several things.
1)The one or three month air filter hasn't been changed in a long time.
2) There is a large pool of stagnant water festering in the system .
or...
3) Something died in the duct and is rotting there.

rotten egg smell is usually caused by hydrogen sulfide. not healthy at all!
