Muslims believe that Ishmael, a son of Abraham by Sarah’s Egyptian handmaid Hagar, to be the “father of the Muslims”.

In Genesis 17:19-21, God willed that the old and barren 90-year-old Sarah to bear a son to be named Isaac. God promised Sarah that He will establish with Isaac “an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.” What is this covenant? The Promised Land. To whom did God establish His covenant? To Isaac and his seeds or descendants. Who are the descendants of Isaac and his son Jacob? The Israelites. To whom then did God promise the land? To the Israelites. Did the covenant have any termination date? No. It was an “everlasting covenant”. Why then do the Muslims claim the land of Israel as theirs? If they believe in the true God, they will “submit” to His wishes. That is what Islam means—“submission to God”. Who owns the land here on Earth? Isn’t it God? So He can will it to anyone who He desires.

Didn’t God give the land of Israel to the seeds or descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in other words, to the Israelites? If the Muslims want peace, “submit” to the wishes of this true God. We only sin against the true God if we kill our fellowmen. One of the ten commandments of the true God is “Thou shalt not kill.” (Exodus 20:13)

The land is not only where Israel is now. It is “from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18).

Other verses in the Old Testament:
God said to Isaac in Genesis 26:3-4: “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.”

God said to Jacob in Genesis 28:13: “And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham they father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.”

In Genesis 35:11, God repeated what He said to Jacob earlier: “And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy see after thee will I give the land.”

Could the Muslims please cite verses in the Holy Bible the legitimacy of their claim?

FYI, I am neither a Jew nor a Muslim. I am a non-denominational Christian, a plain follower of Jesus. We can stop this useless war and loss of lives and destruction of property if only “submit” to the wishes of the true God.

To excited2bet – Which is the kingdom that Jesus was referring to? Isn’t it Heaven, the kingdom of God? Jesus said that His kingdom is not of this world.

To AngelsAndJinns – Do you think the Israelites are not the “best of people” to be put on that land called Israel? Doesn’t God own everything in this world—the land, including us, His creation? As the owner of the land, did He not make an eternal covenant that He is giving the land of Israel to the seeds of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Did God not make the Israelites as His people? Did He not punish them when they sinned and gone astray? They were exiled to Babylon, dispersed in the Roman Empire, killed in the Holocaust. In spite of these, did not the Israelites remain believing in this God of their forefathers and faithful to Him?

Amen, amen, and amen!!! You are certainly right. Few people know or understand just how large an area was given to Abraham by the Lord. Muslims believe it was given to them because of the belief that Ishmael was the legitimate son and therefore the heir. Christians Jews know and believe that Abraham's heir is really Isaac because Sarah (Isaac's mother) was the wife of Abraham. The Muslims believe that Abraham was actually married to Hagar, Ishmael's mother. The difference of opinion is based upon who do you trust, the word of Almighty God or that of an imitator?

We must remember that the Q'uran was written 600 years after the death of Christ who had come not to be a sacrifice for sin but also to fulfill the Law of Moses. Since Moses lived long before Christ, consider how much time elapsed before Mohamed wrote Q'uran? Many do not know that this was written by Mohamed in the successful attempt to unite the desert tribes of Arabia. These tribes were always in conflict with one another. Another little known fact is the concept of Allah is based upon changing the name of the moon god they worshiped to Allah, a name chosen by Mohamed. It reminds me of the vaudeville question "Who's on first?"

It is an undeniable fact that the written work of God, the Old Testament was written long before the Q'uran. We are warned in Deut. 4:2 the following,"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. " Therefore when Mohamed wrote the Quran 600 years after Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection he altered and changed the word of Almighty God.

We must also consider the admonition of the apostle Paul in Galations 1:8,9, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

Mohamed, by writing the Q'uran, changed the wordof Almighty God and by teaching another gospel he is cursed by God.

Jews as God gave it to them. He promised to return them there and He has. He also promises that they will no more be removed and that He will again deal with them. This will happen in the near future. 1) After Psalm 83 when the Arab problem is dealt with. 2) After Ezek. 38, 39 (Zech 12, 14, Jer. 30) Gog from Magog--the rest of the Muslims and those who sympathize with their agenda are dealt with. Then the Holy Remnant (Isa. 4:3) will be instructed in the ways of God and brought under the New Covenant.--and through them the rest of the world of mankind--first those living at the time, then those in the resurrection.

Boy I wish it was so simple, just do what God said. The problem is sin will be with us until the last day. You see the Muslims do not subscribe to that account thus we have a conflict. The Israelites? What happened to all the lost tribes? And rember Jesus taught that His kingdom is not of this earth, so location really doesn't matter from our perspective.

Both Jews and Muslims have claims on the land.

In reality though, it's the Jews who have had a continuous presence there for almost four thousand years. Recent archaeological finds support the Jewish claims on many of the holiest sites.

In the Quran, Jerusalem for example, is not mentioned once - and Muslims face Mecca when they pray.

In the old testament, Jerusalem is mentioned numerous times and synagogues all over the world are built facing the direction of Jerusalem.

The very term 'Palestinian' originally referred to the Jews, as they were the main inhabitants. Mark Twain, returning from a trip there in the 19th century, famously reported: 'Apart from all the Jews living there, there is nothing, save a few wandering Arab nomads.'

I know it's hard for someone who does not believe in Islam or the authenticity of Muhammad (pbuh) to believe that it could be possible that God All-Mighty desires the followers of His final message to be the ones who should inherit lands so as to spread his word and message to humanity, stop corruption and aggression, uphold the tenets of the divine law...etc., but that's really the way Muslims see it.

The land belongs to God. His intent is to put the "best of people" on the land.

Now, if the Christians or Jews are defined as the "best of people", then be it so that they own this land. However, Islam is God's final message to mankind, and it should follow that it because it contains the most preserved and least corrupted of all of the tenets (that will be closely guarded by the Heavens till the Day of Judgment), that Islam be the presiding religion in the land.

You are correct the land belongs to Israel. God gave them the land and Islam was invented long after Judaism. Muslims didn't exist. Now the new invention of Muslims are trying to falsify God's words and plan for the land of Israel.

You forgot to finish reading the Bible
God became tired of the Nation of Israel.
Jesus made a new pact with his apostles while on earth
Luc 22:29, 30 However, YOU are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials; 29 and I make a covenant with YOU, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom, 30 that YOU may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Now he wasnt speaking literal Israel for in Revelation 5:9 it says "because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

people of all nations so 12 tribes of Israel represents the whole earth
