I actually enjoy listening to those stories. My mom will usually talk about growing up poor and it brings tears to my eyes everytime. My grandmother raised her and my aunt on her own, without my grandfather's help, who was an alcoholic. Maybe this sounds kind of stupid but I think it's important to understand how your parents were when they were your age and what they went through. It kind of forms a strong bond between parents and children.

I don't mind it, because I know they were around my age doing stuff and what not. I just don't like it when some of the kids of today are like "you don't know what you are talking about and you never had to go through what I'm going through". And I say that is not possible because kids are kids regardless of what age and generation. There has been drugs and sex and peer pressure since day one. So any kid in any generation isn't going through anything that is any better or worse. They just only try to act like it is worse.

Kids teens think they know more then their parents so when teens are called out on stupid things they do instead of saying your right to your parents you just make believe that they don't know what their talking about and walk away rolling your eyes at them.

How can you compare the days when TV wasn't around or it was just black and white pictures to these Ipod, Hi Def, supercomputer, and nuclear weapons?

Why would we? "Prehistoric tales" is what I was thinking. No, it's not even close to a fair comparison. You need to try to understand your kids, not kill them with "When I was your age".
