My mother-in-law is having gastric bypass surgery next week. I'm trying to find recipes to make for her in the weeks following the surgery, but I can't find any online and our library has been closed since a recent flood. Is there anyone out there who's had the procedure or knows someone who has that could help me get some recipes? They need to be high in protein and extremely healthful. I would sincerely appreciate ANY help. Thank you!!!!

i had a gastric bypass.....you mom-in-law will not be eating Receipes for a few weeks.

she will get instructions from her doctor.
the first week home should be clear liquids only (if she cant read a newspaper thru them, then she cant drink them)
the second week will be less than 1 oz of boiled chicken along with her liquids.
each week a bit more will be introduced.

BUT here is the catch---she is gonna eat like a teaspoon of something a be INCREIBLY full!!!! so she will not be eating compete meals for quite a while.

again---check with her doctor....mine gave me exactly what and how much i could eat each week.

good luck to your mom-in-law :)

No Gastric bypass! ok, I had subject concerns with the hollow nutrition factor. So i attempted Nutrisystem, I lost WEIGHT! in case you does not have that kind of money, factor your nutrition. decide for walks as a rule. From Nutrisystem I lost around 40 Ibs. i chanced on that it is approximately factor manage. in case you like even if candy, specific you would be waiting to have it, although basically a splash somewhat of the completed factor?? Make specific to get your end result and vegetables in too! solid fulfillment!

They will give her diet instructions either before the surgery or before she is discharged to go home. If you need the info ahead of time, call the doctor's office & have them fax you a copy. There are a lot of dietary restrictions so do not let her have anything that is not on her list of foods she can have - it can be dangerous. Plus, after the surgery, she will only be able to eat a couple of tablespoons of food at a time to keep from rupturing the stomach by overfilling. Be careful & do exactly what the doctor says.
