Does My Dog Look Mean?

People say that since she is a pitbull she should be euthanized what do you think

I know it does look like she had alot of puppies she was adopted from the shelter and they told me that she was used for breeding but she has been spayed now

No I do not think she looks mean & she should NOT be put down!!!
People are ignorant to the breed.
My daughter has three inside Pits & they don't have a mean bone in their bodies.
Then again, maybe if someone were to harm their little two legged sisters they would then probably cause someone some serious harm!!!

Beautiful!!! I'm a HUGE pitbull lover, and so is my two and a half year old son. Two of his best canine friends are my sister's over 85lb. pits!! They love him more than anything in this world, would pu their lives in front of his, and they put up with anything the boy does to them. My husband and I have owned three pitbulls over the years, and have had nothing but the best family dogs. People just don't understand that its the owner's responsibility to "mold" the dog on how they should be. Yes, you want your dog to be a protector, but you also have to instill the lovingness and friendliness that you would in your children.

What many people don't know is that pitbulls were NOT originally bred for fighting. Pitbulls were bred as bay dogs, for hog hunting. Because of their stature and strength, hunters would train the dogs to track down wild hogs that had been shot but not killed, and keep them in a confined area until the hunter got there. If you look at most hunting websites, you'll see that the majority of dogs used are pitbulls. Here are some photo examples.

Somewhere down the line someone thought that if they could keep an 800lb hog in place, they could probably do harm to other things that got on their nerves.

Hopefully people will make an effort to become more educated before they judge. You never know when that random "vicious" pitbull could save your life if you were being attacked by someone!!

Pitbulls are wonderful dogs and people that say you should euthanize her just b/c she is one, is a pure idiot. I would never put her down because of her breed. Any breed can be aggressive. If she isnt aggressive towards people that you have nothing to worry about. So many people hear "pitbull" and just freak out. It doesnt matter the breed. Any breed can look scary or bite. Dont listen to people.

Of course she shouldn't be euthanized! People have a negative image of pitbulls; due to the fact that pitbulls are used for dogfighting, they have the reputation of being mean dogs. However, if the dog is raised in a good environment, they can make excellent pets. Don't pay attention to anyone that tells you otherwise.

Added: That is wonderful that you adopted a Pitt that was used for breeding and then thrown away. You no there really should be some sort of lic. you should have to get before you can own an animal. People that just get a dog to breed and make money (which they really don't) Make me sick. Good for you for giving her a good home

no matter what the breed a dog shouldn't be euthanized for something stupid like that, i would know, a couple moths ago we had the sweetest pit bull ever (when you approached her she would practically licked your face off)her name was Bella, but when they said that we had to get rid of her, we went around trying to get 100 signatures and we only got 87, she was put to sleep, just for being a Pitt bull, she didn't do anything wrong! sniffle* sniffle, i loved that dog SO much, in memory of our Beaming little Bella :' (

You dog is adorable!!!! Just because she is a pitbull doesn't mean that! people who say that are stupid, tell people who say that to rethink their priorities and do some research on pitbulls!!!!!1 Has your dog had a lot of puppies? she looks like it. If she is a loving mom then that just adds to the reasons why she shouldn't be uthanized. Pitbulls are wonderful if you show them love, and they have a terrible reputation for something that is our fault. we trained them to fight!

Alot of people are afraid of those dogs me included. but i do happen to know they can be very nice dogs if they are brought up right. i guess if you got this dog at right place you are ok shes nice looking not mean.

To be honest yeah she dose look mean but I'm sure that she is a sweat heart.
