It might be possible if you open the can first. I think that is how they make beer can chicken.

Beer can chicken is an Australian way of cooking chicken. Open the can and place it in the body cavity in an upright position. when you cook the chicken (in an upright position) the beer, or inthis case cider, evaporates and infuses the meat with flavour and moisture.
Try it on the BBQ, but you will need a lid of some sort to cover the chicken.
Enjoy,
Fuzzy

Sure, the same way you would make beer can chicken. Cider sounds like a really nice alternative.

well in therory it would make a nice dish ( cider chicken ) But i think in order to make it the way you want you would need a tub of that K-Y jelly stuff that man+man use's to help the poor can of cider on its merry way, plus if the chicken was not dead the walk to the oven would be a funny one and i would pay for a front row seat lol.

yes the can of cider would make an excellent heat conductor and the cider would complement the flavour of chicken however i would urge you make sure the can is pierced otherwise you could have a nasty explosion . it would also be less cruel to kill the chicken first

Sure can, although it is much better with a can of beer up the chicken's butt & cook over medium/hot coals - Yummy!

Yes, you can, and aside of making sure the can is opened and half full only, you should wash the can first with washing liquid and then cover it on aluminium foil for hygiene, don't forget that there's paint outside the can.

Yes, so long as you open the can first, and aren't cooking in the microwave.
