If there really is a God, and he is so caring and understanding then why does he let bad things happen to good people? Until I get a real answer for that question, I really have no faith in the whole religion thing.

I just don't get it, people actually believe that they will go to hell if they don't believe. That to me sounds pretty hypocritical to me. I believe there is a God, and that's about it, I don't put much thought into it, why should I.

hello sweetie :) ok its not that he lets bad things happen hun , things have to happen for a reason . each and everything we go through is done for a specific purpose . say you are running late for work , the car just wont start which delays you for 30 minutes .... in that time on the same exact road you were supposed ot be on at that exact time you would have been there , theres a huge accident and no one survives ... that could have been you . those who passed ... it was their time to go . theres a balance that must be had on earth to keep things normal ya know ? if there were nothing but meanness and hate and fear the world would be miserable but since there is still the joy of love and life and children and laughter and all of those wonderful blessings were not :)

I believe in karma. So bad things happen to me because of something I did in this life of another. If I learn my lesson and stop doing bad things then good things will come my way. I’ve had a lot of good things come my way, but I don’t have many friends. Being a friend is something I have not learned very well in this life, but I have faith that I will have another chance to try again. If not having close friends is a price I pay for the good things I have, then I’m happy with what I have and try not to worry about what I’m missing.

"There was a minister in the Midwest who was going for a walk with a soap salesman in the community who was a real skeptic toward Christianity. They were having quite an active debate while walking through the park. The businessman was getting in some good jabs at the inconsistency of Christians.

As they were walking through the park the soap salesman questioned the minister, "How can you say that Christianity works when even within the inner-city park you see derelicts of every kind, drugs, and prostitutes? Then you have the problems of the family, war, and disease, not to mention the negative problems of the world. How can you say that Christianity works? Just look around-it's not working." They walked in silence for a few moments, and then the minister turned to him and said, "You're a soap salesman, right?" "Yes, of course," was the reply. "Is it good soap?" "It's the best soap on the market!" was the comment of the salesman. The minister turned and pointed to a small child playing in the park who was covered with dirt and grime, and said, "This boy is dirty and filthy from the mud in the park; doesn't your soap help him?" The salesman said, "Well, you've got to apply the soap." The minister's response was, "So it is with the Christian faith. You must apply the Christian faith in order for it to work."

What is a 'real answer' to you? Start reading and seriously ponder what you read. We were sent to earth to learn and if we don't face challenges what will we learn? You are blaming God for everything that is wrong. If you truly seek an answer contact local religions most have missionaries or someone who will be happy to explain their beliefs to you. From there you can take the information that you've been provided with and move forward.

idk
I do know that bad things happen to you whether you are good or not. Life is hard and some bad things will happen in life no matter what. Christians are not immune from the realities of life. God does comfort His children and give them hope and courage to face life and everything about it. Christians are victors in life. That doesn't mean nothing bad happens to them; it can mean, if we exercise our faith, that life will not defeat us. We are given supernatural strength to face whatever life throws at us.

Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

Bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad people. That is the way of the world right now. Please refer back to the book of Genesis. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, a curse was put on the earth. Sin entered it, and this is a result of thousands upon thousands of years of sin. We were not created to have disease or misery or suffering or death.

This age we live in? It is going to end. God will step in one day and put all the wrong right. But now He is giving people a chance to repent of their sins and accept His son.

I know as a Christian trials are allowed in my life because they shape me into a person that He can use.

Now, whether you choose to believe in God or not, that's up to you.

"there is none good but God."

What is good really? And by whose standards are you judging? Are God's standards more valid than our own? After all, He made everything, and He has claimed everything, so what really belongs to us?

This brings to mind something that Jesus talked about:
1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

So Jesus had the answer to your question. If you give anyone the points, give them to Him.

There are no "good people". Everyone is a sinner. The fact that bad things don't happen to all of us continually shows that God is gracious and merciful. Nevertheless, you must believe that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again. If you believe that, wonderful things happen to you. If you reject it to your dying breath, you will go to hell for eternity, and it will be much worse than the "bad things" you worry about now.

Bad things happen to everyone, not just good people. Good things happen too.

You don't need to have faith in the whole religion thing. It's not about religion, it's about relationship.

Do you know where you'll spend eternity?

Read Romans.

In Christ,
