I have rat food for her it was one i got from a pet store and was like 8 bucks but she dosent seem to like it that much. So i was going to try a different type of food. Also she dosent chew on the wood blocks i got for her. My last rat loved his wood blocks. Is that normal?

I think it cost me about $15 to make, but it lasted for a long time.. It's very good for them, and they love the taste.. the standard lab blocks are not even that good for them.. (Not to mention many of them won't eat it) Hamster food does not have what a rat needs in it's diet..

Of course she loves it. It is full of fatty seeds. She would really be better off eating rat formulated "lab-style" blocks. The hamster food will just make her get overweight.

Not all rats dig the wood blocks. There was only one specific type my rats would use.

There is nothing wrong with feeding a hamster to a snake. It would be an expensive meal but I have seen gerbils fed to wild caught ball pythons.

I think it's fine,.. both are rodents.
Rats are fussy though, and all are different with tastes when given a choice.
Variety is always good.
