The soul is posited by most Christians as existing in the body while we are alive. Given that there is a continuous process ongoing within us replacing the physical matter that makes up our body, when does the soul enter or vacate that physical matter, and by what means? Does it enter the physical matter that is subsumed into my being when I digest food, and likewise, does it leave the physical matter that my body expunges (i.e., my waste matter)?

Infact, the truth about the soul is that it is he that makes you a living being. The body is a mere vehicle(chariot) and the soul(charioteer) or the driver of the vehicle. In every vehicle, we have a driver's seat. So, where does the soul seat in the body-its vehicle?
The space between the two eye brows in the centre of the forehead is the location of the soul in the body.Note that without the soul the body is called a corpse; but with the soul it is a living being.
The soul is bodiless and in the form of a star.It has no gender and it is immortal, eternal and imperishable and therefore not created. The soul enters the body during conception and takes either the female or male's body in the mothers' wombs depending on the role it is to play in the world drama cycle. And like the snake, it sheds its skin(body) when it becomes old-a process we call death and takes another body elsewhere to play another role assigned to it by the Director/Producer of the play-God.
God is not a human being but a soul or a spirit and since the children take after the father it means we are also souls or spirits the same as God-immortal, imperishable and eternal.

The key to your question is: "if". Presupposing that a soul exists is letting your imagination run wild. Sure there have been many who have talked and written about such a nebulous concept, but is there really such a thing? It is something that cannot be proved, and it cannot be disproved. How does the evidence line-up for the existence of the soul? I'm referring to empirical evidence. You won't find empirical evidence in any ancient text.

28 grams is about an ounce. A good guess about what the 28 grams consists of is air or gas.
The loss of an ounce of weight after death is not a rational argument for the existence of a soul.

Well I think if it does exist it is part of every single cell. The cells live as long as we live (or the other way round....) and every animal is made of cells.. Actually every organic life form is... Wait a moment... Do plants have a soul then?
Then maybe it isn't the cells after all.
Anyway, obviously if the soul exists it isn't like any of our organs, nothing solid that you could touch or anything. So we'll never be able to answer this question, will we?

Like all religious theories, teachings and dogmas, you can say just about anything you like about them, pro- or anti - and it doesn;t make the slightest difference, as there is no proof whatsoever of a god, soul, or afterlife. The only proof posited by believers is fom the beauty of the natural world and its complexity - whch is such an absurd "logic " as to be beneath contempt.

The idea of the "Soul" originated as man's most ancient attempt to explain man's consciousness.

Our awareness brings with it a sense of loneliness, sometimes unbearable loneliness.

The idea is that God, in a thousand forms, has a super consciousness that includes and comforts our own.

Thus we can be spared the loneliness of existence by believing that our God is around us.

The idea was further developed to include Death: if God cannot die, then he can cause us not to die as well.

And to bad acts: God is without sin; he will forgive us our sins. And so on and so on.

This self serving nature of man's relationship to his God is quite disguised as man serving God - to serve man, to serve God, etc, etc..

Your average intelligent adherent to the Christian faith, or any faith for that matter, has a willing blindness to this actual state of his relationship to the "Divine."

The wake up call, is often an act of bravery: to see the world as it really is, and shoulder the burden of our own awareness.

The soul in my opinion is not a physical thing. It is like your conscientiousness and emotions. Think of this way if you could divide yourself in half over and over again would you ever find what makes you you?

If humans have a soul that remains conscious after death, why do we ever lose consciousness here on earth? If it's our real essence, why does it go to sleep with the body? Why would it need to?

i believe the soul isnt in us therefore it doesnt enter or leave us. in that sense i see a flaw in people believing that us losing 28grams after we die being our soul leaving our body

in my beliefs the soul is immortal because when your body dies your soul goes to heaven or hell forever, therefore i believe its outside of time and space, if its outside of time and space how can it be in your body, which occupies time and space...

therefore i believe the soul is somehow linked to the body but not IN the body
