I think even if it is a bogus threat, parents need to know so that we can help our children with any questions but the school thinks otherwise. What do you other parents think??

My child did tell me about it but you know how they sometimes forget to give all the information or ADD details that they shouldn't.
When I mentioned this to the Assistant Principal, he asked me what I wanted him to do. Well, I wanted to KNOW the details even if they couldn't tell me at that exact moment.

I can't imagine any child not bursting with the news the minute he hits the door. Parents would know what's happening at their child's school if they would only take the time to ask about the kid's day.
In addition, tho, the school should be required by law to send a notice home, preferably via the mail, so the parents will get the real story.

Of course we should know. Even if it through a simple school letter.
However i would expect the main priority at the time of a suspected bomb to be spent on the childrens safety and not the parents knowing.

YES! Parents have the right to know what is going on while there children are in school. They need to be able to talk to their children about the issues and answer any ?'s they have.

Yes, my kids are still in elementary school and if they have any type of incident they send a letter home but not until about a week later. I would most definitely want to know.

Yes they should. If my kid's schools didn't tell us about a bogus bomb scare or a real one I'd pull my kids out of school and homeschool them.

yes of course....I remember a hand full of bomb scares when I was in school and I don't remember once being sent home with any sort of notice for my parents to read. (my mom worked at the school in the cafeteria but still....)
Parents definatly need to know about things like this.

yes you need to know after the fact so you can talk to them but you should have been telling ths kid about it now. there is alot to doabout this if you see someone strange yourself you are to call 911 and turn them in or your local sherriff. there is things for terrorists and if enough people get together there will never be antoher 911. you have to be aware yourself. its dire that we do this now. its never to rest any more cause of what they threaten now.

I think parents should be notified when ANYTHING happens at school, even if it turns out to be bogus!

I, as a mother, would like to know. But as you said, the school doesn't deem it necessary to tell us anything. I guess they feel it's up to the children to keep us informed of such things. It wouldn't take them long to print something up and make copies of it for all the children to take home. (but I guess that's just too much work for them)... Schools aren't going to inform us of anything unless it has to do with our children misbehaving in school. It's crap.

Yes. If there's any kind of threat I will want to rush down there and get my child out ASAP.
