As in regards to their dog. Has a particular answer been helpful in the decision to breed your dog or not? If so, what was it? How about regarding spay/neuter issues?
Was an answer helpful in helping you decide which breed is right for you?

Please give details. It seems today tempers are flaring...posters reporting answerers...I'm just curious if this forum has helped anyone at all or if those of us that take the time to give our time and knowledge are p*ssing in the wind?

I still say I am learning everyday. I wouldn't say many of the answers have helped as much as some have peeked my curiosity and encouraged further research. What has been a tremendous help is meeting a few Pro's on here. Just the amount of knowledge some have is remarkable. Not just in my area of dogs but, in all aspects. I've met people that have search dogs, hunting dogs, show dogs, agility dogs, sled dogs and rescue dogs. They have amazing stories and provide good examples of what a dog should be. I've also met many people that are just common sense pet owners always ready to help you out to the best of their ability. I guess the best part about this section is the people I've been fortunate enough to meet.

I did a Google seek in 2006, stumbled on an invaluable answer on YC Germany, checked the positioning, cherished the assumption of helping one yet another and signed up. because my command of English isn't one million/2 undesirable the two, I log onto YA on a regular basis. no longer purely do i like being waiting to help many human beings international, yet i've got additionally discovered plenty approximately distinctive cultures because i'm at right here. Hooked? properly, i could stay devoid of YA, yet I fairly would omit it plenty!

I have asked a couple of questions that I could not find answers for and got great responses. I was informed, beyond my expectations.

I have noticed that my own responses are very strong, and quite insensitive...sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. However, I also feel that YA is not quite a forum, where members can develop a rapport and get to know "regulars." As a result, there is always the influx of questions that make you ponder whether or not it's serious, or a bored teen.

I have had a few helpful answers. Mostly about my cats. But when people give me answers in a rude way, or when they yell at me or whatever, I Never Take Their Advice! I just get irritated and ignore what they had to say. And I've noticed that most people are the same way. So I feel it is pointless to be mean to people on here if you actually want to get your point across (unless it is a stupid question, like "we should legalize dog fighting" then I get mean). I always try to be as polite as possible while still giving them my honest advice.

Yes, there are a lot of people I pay attention to in here and trust what they say. I don't ask or answer a lot of questions myself and if something were seriously wrong, using this would site wouldn't even cross my mind, but I still look at the site every day and there are certain people I pay attention to in here. I'll always be learning with my dogs.. I don't think that ever stops.

Yes. I have met some great, responsible breeders here. If I wanted a dog of their breed, even if couldn't get one of their pups, I know I could ask them for advice and receive excellent info.

Also, I've met several other rescue people here who have been both supportive and helpful with issues that concern animal shelters.

I've gotten a few good training tips and a little bit of general medical advice- "warning signs" in particular.

And yes, the site is up to its ears in a lot of ignorant, spiteful, greedy, immoral people.

But you have noticed I won't stay away...right?

out of my questions i have asked i have recieved some helpful ideas and supporters who agree the "designer dogs " shouldnt be bought or sold and also cute names for my cats .

of all my answers i can think of 2 people right away that listened to me about their dogs.
one person insisted of buying a designer breed and when i first told them to instead adopt and not pay back yard breeders for a mutt, they argued there were no cute dogs at their shelter and thta desginer breeds werent mutts. i still suggested checking out petfinder.com and adopting. about 3 weeks later i got an email from them saying how greatful they were they had found their perferct dog at their local shelter through petfinder.com they thanked me for helping them find a great dog without having to go to a back yard breeder.
the other person i immediatley think of is someone who wnated to breed their mixed breed dog. when i explained all the risks involved and the amount of animals at the shelters they reconsidered and finally decided to egt her spayed. for the most part posters dont listen to anyone not agreeing with them but here and there you can really help someone out that was misinformed. this is why i keep coming back to Yahoo.

I asked about reverse sneezing and bingo -- someone mentioned paw licking and sure enough there was. I couldn't see the forest for the treeing walker coonhounds and didn't even think it could be allergy related.

I posted a question about breeders and their screening techniques. I learned that many of the breeders I respect are as anal about their puppies' homes as I (in rescue) am. They go to great lengths to ensure their puppies are placed properly.

I asked about boarding my dog and actually got some very good responses. Some people on here are just messing around but people are pretty serious when it comes to things like this.

I have asked a couple ?'s about allergies and fleas regarding dogs and I have got some decent answers...and mean answers. that's why I don't ask a lot of ?'s on here cuz of the jerks that answer back in a rude way.

It's not like I ask stupid questions either, but some people just like to be mean I guess.
