otherwise what's the point? That would be like me paying for your meal in a restaurant then you paying for the same meal on the way out?

Thanks for Listening
He didn't die so that we can continue to sin. You're missing the point. He died for the sins we've committed, and through that gift we're supposed to return the favor by sinning no more.

But we're human, so we continue to do so. Yet God's love is so much bigger than ours that he forgives us again if we truly feel repentent.

Do you actually believe this!!!! You must be joking, it is 2007.

You are trying to figure out the myth, and these religions were created to control simple minded people. Of course it doesn't make any sense. Why would asking forgiveness be allowed if you could go commit the sin again?

Because of Yeshua, we are able to keep the righteousness of the Law (Commandments of Yahweh Adonai), but have been delivered from the curse of the Law.

To beleive that we can continue in sin after receiving the final sacrifice for sin (sin is the transgression of the Law), it is better not to be born than to come into the Light and then go back into darkness...

How many Esau's are there?
Did not G-d say He loved Jacob and hated Esau?

Who are the sheep and who are the goats?
Those that have done things in the name of Yeshua, yet have not kept the Commandments of G-d.....
For those who love me (Yeshua/Jesus), keep my commandments....
If we know G-d and do not keep His commandments, then we are liars...

Yeshua perfected the Law and the Prophets, not done away with the Law... unlike the heretical teachings that are taught in many pagan-christian churches these days.

Yeshua made a better way to keep G-d's commandments, a better way does not translate to the old/new covenant myth.

If that is true, then why are a majority of the Tanakh / old testament prophecies have not been fulfilled yet?

Also, why is the majority of the new testament drawn from the Tanakh / old testament?

Wide is the road and many are on that path... What about the path less travelled?

The narrow path that few find?
If these paganised-romanised churches are on this 'narrow path that few will find' as written, should not the world be 'turned upside down' with all these so-called 'christians' on the Earth?

As we were forewarned, the salt has lost it's flavor, as it is written... What good is it then?

Things are not as they seem...

Lawlessness = liscense to sin
This is something G-d hates.
The Lawless will be spewed out, they are lukewarm, wasted potential... unfaithful to their calling

what you do is not the sin he paid for. We were all condemed to death because of Adam's sin our father.
So Jesus died to cover Adam's sin.1 corinthians 15:22
Just as through Adam all are dying. So also in the christ all will be made alive. Jesus died for the inherited sin we had no control over. The ones we do we answer for.

(BTW, just read your comment--it is not a question of how we FEEL, it is a question of how we ACT--Webster's definition 2 of repentance-"abandon bad habits or ways," not merely "to feel sorry")

But, as for your comments about someone paying for dinner, If that were the only meal you ever ate again, your analogy would hold up---but it isn't. That's like saying "well, my mother nursed me when I was an infant, and I am 45 now, and I have not had to eat a single meal since then,")

Sadly, people tend to always forget there is a third part to the three-part Unity--the part that comes after the new life is begun--the Holy Spirit.

When we accept Jesus as our Messiah, we are reborn, but faith is not sufficient without works. The purpose of the New Testament, the Brit Hadasha, is to move man from the law of the flesh, where we would be judged merely by what peoples we were FROM---to the laws of the spirit, where we are judged by the people we ARE.

It is why He said in
John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
Jhn 7:39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

People truly do not seem to understand that the Law given unto Moses, when "The word was with G-D" would have been sufficient if man had not strayed and scattered like sheep in the first place. Ezekiel 34 is very specific about that. Those who believe the Bible starts at Matthew 1:1 and have never read before that simply do not understand this.

There would have been no reason for a Messiah, for prophesies such as Isaiah 53:12, or Jeremaiah 31:31-34, or Ezekiel 34, or several others, if the sheep had not been lost...

Let me use your "paying for dinner" analogy--if you picked up the tab for my meal, and I shoved it in your face, if I disrespected and disregarded you, if I showed you disobedience and you're the one with the power to decide the course of my life, how much favor do you think l could count on you giving me from that point on? If you proved to be ingrateful, how inclined do you think I would be to do any more good things in your benefit?

It's like Paul said, when one is a child, one does childish things---one needs another to teach them, to save them from harm, to provide shelter---but when one becomes an adult, one takes what he or she has been taught and makes it a part of themselves--it is the same way with one before the rebirth, before reaching spiritual maturation.

So, before we have our enlightenment, we need to believe He will save us, but if we live in how we were taught to live, then we will be living in the ways He lived in the first place.

That is why He said, when He decided it was time to go, and He had done His job:
Jhn 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever–
Jhn 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
Jhn 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Jhn 14:19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
Jhn 14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
Jhn 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”

If you are not a Believer, you won't understand it...but those who are Believers and are asking this question will understand it, now or in the future.

He died so that we could be redeemed for our sins, not so we could sin more. Being redeemed means more than just asking for forgiveness, You also have to believe it, you ask Jesus to come into your heart and life, and you follow his teachings, and live your life that way. Its a growth process, everyday you should be getting closer to the Lord, and having a closer relationship with him, not the other way around.

That AIDS comment is totally mismatched to the question! Is religion like AIDS???
The Yezidis of South Africa believe so strongly in God's forgiveness that they believe they must first please the lord of this world (Satan) before they're accepted into Heaven! Good job, missionaries! They ask for forgiveness if death may be imminent, if they don't catch it in time, there's much mourning for the unsaved soul of the deceased! Strange, but true!

Hey. I never thought to ask this question. I just assumed that's the way it is.
Now I see all these answers saying I can't sin all I want and get a free pass.
Someone should have told me this 20 years ago!

The Bible says that if you continue to sin then you crucify Jesus all over again. If you truly value the wonderful gift Jesus gave you with his life, you will turn from sin and follow him with all your heart! :o)

Absolutely NOT

Rom 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
