Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Franklin, Revere, etc, etc would have all been taken to the Tower of London and executed for treason. A greater number of soldiers would had to have been sent to the colonies to crush the remaining rebellion and any lingering dissent. A new aristocracy would have risen from that colonial population. However, eventually I think the colonists would have had to have been given representation in Parliament in order to quell misgivings and resentment toward the crown. Instead of having a United States of America I think a United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and North America would have resulted with the colonies becoming semi-autonomous regions as you see with Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland today. I also think war would have resulted with colonial France who would not have been willing to sell their western territories to their ancient enemy under the terms of the Louisiana Purchase. However, I think Spain would have given us or sold us Florida having rescued them from Napoleon. Furthermore, Mexico would never have lost "their" Western territories, ie: California, Arizona, Texas, etc, etc. as I don't think London would have seen any benefit in those areas so wouldn't have waged a war against Mexico for them.

It is an interesting question and one that certainly changes world history from the time of the revolution onwards. There would have been no War of 1812, no Civil War because slavery would have been abolished long before 1860, Napoleon would have been crushed by the overwhelming power of a united British and American nation. World War 1 may not have dragged on for as long as it did and World War 2 would have probably ended before the Soviets were dragged into it by the Germans, although Japan would be the dominant power in Asia controlling much of China as I don't think we would have been so concerned with beating them entirely other than kicking them out of India. Eastern Europe would have remained free and the Soviet Union isolated so there would probably have been no Cold War. There would have been no Vietnam and probably no 9/11 hence no War in Iraq. Although, I think there would have been issues in the Middle East because the creation of the modern Jewish state of Israel was a British fiasco. Best of all George W. Bush would never have been elected Prime Minister and Americans would be playing Rugby and not that sissy sport you call football and you would all drink tea instead of coffee :-)

Good question, I think I'll give you a star.

We would probably have ended up like the present-day British Commonwealth members of Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. This would have been a mucher better deal than the one we got since all three countries have a higher quality of life index and a much higher income equality level than we do.

We would be serving tea and crumpets. Also, we would have, bad teeth, hooligans, Kate Bekinsale(which is a definite PLUS), steering wheels on the wrong side of the car, and would have a queen in charge!!

Just kidding all!
