I had a dream last night that a strange woman gave me a present wrapped in newspaper and told me to open it. For some reason I told her I wasn't going to. I turned the other way and she opened it for me. The next thing I knew she had plunged a knife into my back. It was painful and I felt my back hot with and pain-like my nerves were screaming or something. But I didn't even try to escape or fight back. What's the meaning of this dream?

Present wrapped in newspaper = deception, disrespect
being stabbed in your back = being criticized.
It seems like that present wrapped in newspaper in this case symbolize some sort of disrespect you received from others. While you chose not to open it, that reflects how you react when you are treated badly. Projecting yourself being stabbed by the woman basically mean you are feeling criticized and feeling bad emotionally. You can't even try to fight back or escape because you are in lack of control in reality.
In other words, there may be something in life you are feeling bad about. This may involve your self esteem. Maybe someone hurts your emotionally, but the intention was good in the first place. In some cases, you may have turned down the good intention and back fired and turned out to be a bad thing at the end.
Basically you just vent this out in dream and reflected a little of your personalities.

the strange woman is a deep aspect of yourself. Something is changing in your life - someone is offering you something - it may eb a relationship even - and you're suspicious. But if you dont take it you'll be betrayed. Its a dilemma. If you're betrayed you feel you might even deserve it. My advice is to get advice and strong allies before taking on this thing.
