I am moving into a small studio. The main area is a large regtangle. There is a full wall of built in bookcases along the far narrow wall. Directly in front of that is a built in platform bed. Currently the bookcase wall, bed and all of the main room trim is painted a peachy color. The walls are your typical apartment off white/egg shell color. My furniture is black and my accent color is red with some sage green. All of my wood furniture is a natural cherry color. What color should I have the bookcase, trim and bed painted. I am leaning towards either bright white or the same color as the walls. Any ideas?

Paint the book cases and all of the trim a glossy white and paint the walls a pretty sage green. The sage green on the walls will make your cherry furniture really stand out and the color of the wood will look richer. Paint the back wall of the bookcase the same sage green but leave the cross pieces and the upright pieces the glossy white. The sage green on the walls will also coordinate well with your black furniture and the red accents.

Being rather "bold" I would pull your accent colors into the scheme of things. Maybe the back of the bookcase red and the walls a very light sage. Good Luck and have lots of fun, sounds like a cute place.

I like the mocha browns. Browns go well with bright white trim. Also goes with the darker wood, reds, and greens.

Have you thought about going with a more Khaki color? Stick with Earth-tones to help pull the room and color scheme together.
