GO! What a chance for your kids to experience another culture! Hang the costs!

You may be able to arrange space available transportation on military transports for free. I'm not sure what the rules are for unaccompanied dependents travelling to/from the active duty member's place of assignment, but I'm sure a deal can be worked out.

Nevertheless, you can check on yahoo! travel to get an idea of airfare costs. Knowing when you're going to book and using the on base travel agent should be able to get you additional discounts.

all costs would be out of pocket. Plus, does the custody agreement allow you to take the kids out of the country? It would not be fair, in my opinion, to make dad pay for the flights back and forth to see his kids, as it isn't his fault you would be living so far away, so you would have to be prepared to pay for all of it yourself, as well as being more flexible with holidays and long school breaks.
