I was speaking to a coworker and she was intentionally ignoring my question I was asking her. So I asked her loudly, "Do you always ignore people when they are speaking to you?
The response I recieved was "I'd rather not play with the parents of monopoly" The parents are tall and the game is short, and the rewards are few"

It was such weird cryptic response that I remembered it and woke up.
How would you interepret the meaning of this?

I'm not a parent, the person I was talking to I don't like. She at best has been a bane to my existence and I to hers. We were civil to each other out neccessity. Fortunately, I don't see her much now. I had this dream at least 3 months ago and asked people I know what they thought no one had any answers. I wrote the phrase down and found it laying around today.

Your self is trying to tell you that you are wasting your time with something in your finances but you arent either trusting or listening to what is trying to be said. Could be the job itself.

I can see Tofu's point, but I think that it is deeper than that. I think that the set up to this dream is a important as the conclusion.

The fact that you were talking to a co-worker implies this has to do with work. You're feeling ignored and, when you say something about it, they reply with nonsense. Or at least, something that feels like nonsense even though it seems to have deep meaning to the person saying it.

That, really, is the crux of this dream to me: you don't understand a message being given to you at work. You're asking for clarification, but it isn't helping.

Now to the odd statement. First, you either are or are a representative of "the parents of monopoly". "The parents are tall" - you're a force to be reckoned with - "the game is short" - they would rather lose the battle and win the war / dealing with you would cost more than ignoring you - "and the rewards are few" - while you're offering a benefit, it isn't a big enough benefit.

A friend was once told that she was a cancer to her company; if they removed her, the company would die quickly. But she was killing the company slowly. Their only hope was to figure out a way to eliminate her before she did kill them. She quit.

It sounds, to me, like your co-worker is telling you about the same thing. Perhaps you're pushing yourself too hard. Perhaps you need to take a break or change your your scenery. Maybe you just need to find a new way to get involved - maybe there is a social comity you could join. You could bring bagels every Wednesday and say "Wednesday bagel time!"

*******alternate possibilities

It could be that you are a parent. And your child is monopoly. In this case: "The parents are tall and the game is short," - you have a lot of influence and your child has little influence - "and the rewards are few" - It's not about you, its about your child. You're blocking us from what we need. (could also be about a pet project)

It could also be you talking to yourself. Why do you ignore what you're already telling yourself?

******end alternates

No matter what, this is a dream calling for you to pay more attention to things around you and to different things. What is the perspective of those around you?

I believe you are always talking to yourself in dreams. Do you have a problem listening to others? Do you ignore your own inner voice?

Are you so busy playing monopoly (with the rat race) that you ignore the important things in your environment? Are you sacrificing your true wants and needs for the ritual which has become your every day life?

Just a few thoughts. Am I on "MYSTERY PSYCHICS HOT LINE?"

It sounds like you might think your job is a joke
the parents are tall- the goals are huge at your job, the work ammount is large. parents represent authority, so your boss perhaps and his/her expectations?
the game is short- your life is too short to be doing something you don't want to do, such as that job?
the rewards are few- not much pay or fell goodness eh, for what you are doing??

i could be totally off but hope it helps a little.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To dream that you are talking does not have any significance unless it is unusual or bizarre. Consider also if what you say evoke strong feelings or behavioral reactions. The dream may simply be highlighting your need improve your communication skills or learn to express yourself more clearly.

Your dreams are nothing but your subconscious trying to 'work out' what you conscious (awake) mind can not or will not work out. The 'sentence' you remember so clearly is nothing but 'gabble' ... evidently you think this co-worker is not a good 'communicator' ... and that she talks using 'big words' to hide her 'ignorance' of the subject you are 'discussing' with her.

You have been ignoring something important like yourself or a dream you always wanted to pursue.

I have no idea about the second part but maybe you're feeling neglected or ignored by someone in your life.
