It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the passage you mentioned was written by men who knew that people would doubt God's existence even at that time. There is nothing prophetic about it.It's one of the few things that are common sense. But, it appears that something as commonly known as doubt and disbelief in history has escaped you.So, let me put it another way, your book says everything you need it to say but it is just a book and will always be just a book and so until you can come up with something better then "it's in the Bible" then you have absolutely 100% without a single doubt nothing to substantiate anything about God's existence. Not now nor ever.Period.End of story.Bye bye.

I think the more appropriate question is: How can you follow this book so blindly?

The men who wrote the bible knew that there would be those who didn't believe him... GOD did not write the bible...

I'm not an athiest. I believe in a god, but not your christian god in whos name so many people have been killed... And not in your god in whos name wars have been waged. Not this god whi is responsible fo so much hate. And deffinetly not your god who took everything away from his most faithful follower, Job, just to prove a point.

Read this precious book of yours, because if He is the true god, then I want nothing to do with him.

If you are as christian as you think you are, then you'll want to know how the other side thinks.

Let's see here...the Bible also says:

"Whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hellfire." (Matthew 5:22)

You believe that God "co-authored" the Bible, correct? Therefore, God has called me a fool. Does this not mean, then, that God is going to hell?

Alternately, I could quote Terry Pratchett (at least I think this one's his):
"It is the fool's prerogative to utter the truths that no one else dares speak."

Sorry friend, biblical scripture means nothing to me. The Bible has meaning only for those who already believe. I don't believe in anything supernatural because I know that my own perceptions are NOT the basis of reality. As for God, I don't need to be forgiven for having been born and I have nothing but scorn for genocidal tyrants.

Oh that's rich. A theist calling an atheist blinded by the bible. I smell hypocricy.

How do I explain it?

Well considering the book was written by theists as a means to instill their beliefs in others. This verse it but another way to scare the masses in to believing and to make an excuse to the crappy treatment of rational minds of non-believers.

I counter that scripture and replace it with this one.

Ephesians 1:4-5, 11

This talks about how we are predestined by God to go to either heaven or hell. None of our thoughts, words, or actions can affect the final outcome

Given that information nothing matters at all. I was predestined by god before I was born to be an atheist and go to hell so where's the free will in that huh? What kind of god is that?

Wow, what a brilliant and powerfully written verse! Those fools had better start worrying. If they only knew what a vicious, merciless, vindictive, violent and cruel "god" they were dealing with, they would never have uttered those words. Their lives weren't worth 2 cents after that I bet. What part of the bible is this verse from: "You VILL believe or else you vill be DAMNED in HELL!!"

I think it's funny that Christians are still trying to shove their religion down other people's throats, just as you are doing by singling out atheists. I was raised Christian. For 18 years I went to church. My parents and their families are very devout. I've known "in my heart" that the Christian god cared nothing for me, I lived with that pain and emptiness most of my life. It was only with exploring other religions that I realized that I didn't need a savior in my life to make me okay, I am okay as I am. I lead a good life. If there is a god, great, I will be okay with that. But I would have to meet him first and have him tell me first hand that he loves me because I never once experienced that love as a child or a teenager or an adult, no matter what I did. So stop shoving this crap down our throats. Let people believe what they want to believe, Christianity doesn't work for everyone. Get off your high horse. My grandpa was a pastor and he accepted me for who I am, you as a Christian should be able to do the same of EVERYONE!

How do we 'explain' a verse written by a bunch of guys with an agenda to scare people into believing in a mythical supernatural being? Easy. I just did.

Now if YOU could just learn how to write a basic sentence in English, we will have really achieved something today.

P.S. Revise your haircut.

Foolish is the one who denies Zeus, for Zeus is the almighty god, created of the heavens and the earth.

What's that? Zeus is only a myth? Prove it..

Edit:
There is also another verse in the bible that says a person should not call someone else a fool. So nice try to use the bible top convince someone that they are a foll for not believing in god when there is another passage in the bible that says you should not call someone a fool.
