I was a single mom of two, they are both adults now, I am not trying to be judgemental, but how can you forget you have a baby in the car. When we were riding in the car, and they were quiet, the first thing I did was to notice how quiet the car was. I had my mirror always on them. Just curious as to your thoughts thanks and have a wonderful day.

I could never forget that my kid was in the car. I don't know how anyone could. I could see for maybe 5 minutes or something, but when you go to walk away, you have to think what is different about this picture? I bet she didn't forget her purse! What parent isn't weary of silence? I worry every time my kids are quiet. It means that something is wrong or they are up to no good. She should be punished. That is a mistake that cost someone else their life, and that is manslaughter. I don't care what way you look at it. If she wasn't an airhead, the kid would be alive. Negligence, plain and simple.

I think the excuse that she "forgot" her baby was in the car is a load of bull. Especially considering she has a past history with this type of behavior. I can't belive they are not going to proscute. When I have my 2 year old nephew in the car I am constantly checking my mirrors to see what he is doing. If I was child services I would have yanked the other child immediately if not sooner.

I believe with all the hassle and Bessel people have to do these days to make a living that yes a child is some times the last thing on there mind it is a shame But it is true.when my daughter was a baby i could put her in the front seat now you can not do that may be out of sight out of mind any way you want to think about it ,I would think that it would be the most unforgettable thing one could do

It amazes me that people especially mothers can do this. If you forget your own child is in the car, it shows where your priority's are, and obviously your child isn't too far up on the list. So I don't want to see them on TV whining, they should be punished by the law, it's neglect no matter how you look at it!

I find it extremely difficult to believe a mother could forget her own child in the car. Mothers have a strong maternal instinct........and to 'forget' a child like this is highly unusual, unnatural and unbelievable.

i feel so bad 4 that mother if i were that mother i would probably commit suicide i would n't b able to go on with my life . but then again i think if she loved her child enough then she would have remembered to take her kid 2 school and wouldn't have left her in the car i mean come on you don't look in your back seat at all , all day yeah right idk what to think anymore i think the mother should get some kindof charge in a way i do i mean that poor child suffered 4 hours

I only have one child who is also an adult now; silence was always my alarm so I can't honestly see how it happens either. Many women have very demanding and stressful lives but I really don't see how it can happen. Maybe someday it won't ever happen again. We can only hope.

I'm a mother of two as well and I don't know how in the world that happens. However it does and it does often. Who am I to judge and for that matter, who are you?
